The initial fence was done in a timely fashion and without any monetary anomalies. A year later a tornado (F1) came through my property and I needed repair work on 24 feet of my wood shadowbox fence. So, Seminole Fence(SF) was contacted. A prospective repair contract was submitted and agreed to by me. The repair crew responded and did a fine job, the lead worker advised that he would replace approximately 16 linear feet of shadow box fence and would salvage 8 feet of the original fence; thereby, reducing my cost. The total cost of the initial repair was approximately $1350. The actual cost of the repair should have been at $56.25 a linear foot which is $900.00 in total including debris removal and taxes. The repair crew was to itemize their work and have the SF revise their final charge and forward same to me. Now the salvageable 8 foot section would necessitate a monetary fee for labor which is amiable. However, $450.00 for reconstituting the 8 foot section to the original 8 foot stanchion with a total of 6 nails was not a reasonable charge. Therefore, I asked for a delineation of the actual work done by the repair crew. But, instead I received unmitigated verbal abuse from the owner, and accusations that I was cheating the insurance company which was a lie. The owner went on to use every profanity known to man to be insulting, demeaning and rude to a customer. The only item that I wanted was documentation of the actual work done. However, the owner would not provide this accounting documentation. The verbal assault by the owner of SF was unbelievable, shocking and unprofessional. I am affiliated with ************************ and have been informed by the president of the HOA that he will not be doing business with SF due to their unprofessional approach to resolving monetary issues with the HOA. I must agree that this company is not one that should be dealt with on any level. This assessment of the Seminole Fence, is a warning to all prospective customers.

We did provide an estimate for your repair, you agreed and signed the contract. You are correct in that we only did 16' of new fencing verses the 24' quoted. The final invoice was reduced based on the materials not used on the 8' and emailed to you stating exactly what we did. The original contract was a lump sum contract and not based on a per linear foot price. There was no per foot cost provided to you. You came up with that on your own. You felt that it should have been less, when in fact, we control our pricing, not the consumer. We are in business to make a profit, as 100% of companies in this country are. We have minimums on repair jobs due to the travel time, fuel, insurances, overhead costs, etc. What you are neglecting to inform the public within this review, is that it was an insurance claim. You told our salesman, that originally met with you, that you were submitting to insurance. You then came to our office to pay the upfront deposit and tried to renegotiate a lower price by getting a cheaper style of fence, in order pocket the insurance monies. That is fraud and we will not be a part of that. And yes, the owner did exchange words with you because you harassed all of our employees for days trying to get them to lower the price to your liking. Again, we control our pricing and know what cost are involved. Your job was done at a fair price considering today's economy. Thank you.
