I was just informed that a past customer of J&J *****************************************, *** has posted negative and false claims.  This house was under construction during the pandemic. As much as we tried to accommodate them we had no choice but to stop construction.  After properly terminating construction of the home, they filed a complaint with the ********** of ************ Business Regulations (DPBR).  After a lengthy and detailed investigation by DPBR their claim was dismissed by DPBR in 2023.  My guess, the response was in retaliation to  DPBR's findings. J&J Design Builders has been in business since 2000.  With thousands of successful permits completed in all the surrounding counties. Anyone can do a detailed check of my contractors license for the last 23 years and you will see that J&J Design Builders, ***. has never had a single issue. Everything is public record. Same results will be found for all building departments ever pulled and completed.  Prior to pandemic, J&J Design has never been in a lawsuit with a customer, subcontractor or supplier.  Prior to pandemic J&J Design Builders, *** has never had to terminate a construction project due to contract violations, etc..  J&J Design Builders, ***. has 100's of customers that I am still in contact with to this day, I am more than willing to share contact info for a reference.  J&J Design Builders, ***. has built custom homes for repeat customers over the course of many years.  I understand people get upset and post negative false claims in relation, but J&J has had nothing but great success in building custom homes and always ended with awesome and easily proven results.  During the pandemic I had four customers for some reason filed a complaint with DPBR even though they were in contract violation at the time. All claims were dismissed by DPBR.   The pandemic was horrible for everyone, especially in the construction world with material prices skyrocketing, limited availability of materials and labor. All my years in the construction world, it was like nothing I had seen. I personally put my personal savings, retirement, credit, etc...into the houses under construction during the pandemic to help offset the insane material cost and keep this going and hoping for a better day tomorrow.  It was amazing how nasty some can be, no matter how hard I tried.  I did my best to try and shield them all from material increases and keep the construction process going with hopes this was just temporary and  material cost and availability would return to normal soon. I lost everything and am now starting from scratch.  2024 was the year I was going to slow down and retire before the world changed forever after Covid. We all know how that ended.  At the very end, I was faced with enforcing the "escalation clause" in my contract. J&J had more money investested in the jobs than  ever received, PROVEN. Not to mention not enough money for overhead/profit.  It was impossible to continue construction.  All I ever asked for was the cost difference per contract language.  I let it go as long as I could, I never wanted it to end the way it did. These Four customer complaints in 23 years, during one the worst economic times most had ever seen.
