On 3/10/22 I had consultation with Dr. M*******. I was in lots of pain, desperately looking for help. Dr. M******* charged me consultation fee $100. However, said he needs full records before he tells me anything. He told me he does complete treatment: fillings, bone grafting, implants, crowns, bite. I felt confident he will help me and agreed to pay $890. On 4/6/22 he took photos, impressions, occlusion analysis and said he recommends to remove all my upper teeth and replace with removable denture or implants. However, he can't help with my dental problems and will not do implants and I will have to find someone else! I was shocked why he didn't tell me on the day of consultation but told after charging $890! I contacted the office 3 different times asking why they charge me $990 and if the records will be used when I am ready to do crowns, but they said No, at the time when I am ready to do crowns, I will need to do "full records" again, and the only reason for the records is to do a "presentation" for me (I am not kidding!) I asked for refund but received another bill for $16! 1. Were $120 photos necessary, or visual/x-rays sufficient? 2. Were diagnostic casts necessary at this stage? Dr. M******* revealed the "treatment plan" right after he took impressions, not after casts were made. If the casts will not be used for the future crowns, what is the use of them? 3. The primary purpose of occlusion analysis is to reveal interferences in articulation which cannot be observed directly in the mouth. How did $350 occultion analysis helped me? 4. Who the $175 presentation is for? 5. Why Dr. M******* after charging me $990 never contacted me or my dentist Dr. A*******, who will be doing my implants, Please help to get my money back, (except for consultation fee), so I could pay for real treatment. (P.S. My dental problems escalated due to COVID-19; estimated treatment is 26k. Do you know if Is there a financial help available anywhere? I can't afford this)

      Business response

      08/16/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/07/06) */ Contact Name and Title: Caryn Patient Coordinator Contact Phone: 407-656-8080 Contact Email: [email protected] ***** presented for consultation on 03/30/22, fee for this procedure is $100 per her insurance. She paid $39 & insurance paid $45 after the deductible, the reason she was billed the difference of $16. (see attached insurance disbursement) Her chief complaint was "my teeth feel loose and my bite feels off". ***** has periodontal disease, bone loss and mobility of several upper teeth. ***** stated "I want to keep my teeth, no more extractions". Therefore we needed to Obtain diagnostic records to include, study models, photos, occlusal analysis in order to determine with her bite if this is possible. The next appointment would be to discuss our findings and review fees for treatment (Case Presentation) We use the mounted models or a final work up and to be able to discuss with our patients about the bite issues. ***** never returned for this information. Dr. M******* is willing to refund the amount of $890 which she paid for Records. Consumer Response /* (3000, 15, 2022/07/20) */ Thank you ****** for helping with this matter. In his response Dr M******** said they will refund $890 and I was waiting to receive the check. However. I just received a letter from them with $16 bill! I am shocked! Please help to expedite resolution of this issue otherwise, I wouldn't surprised if they will turn this bill into collection agency. Thank you!!!! Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2022/07/26) */ As explained previously, The Consultation is not in dispute as services were rendered. The in Network insurance fee is $100, she paid $39 and insurance paid $45 therefore leaving a balance of $16. Insurance took her deductible on the consultation the reason for only paying $45. We have mailed a check for the full amount of $890 no July 25th, ***** is aware. Consumer Response /* (2000, 23, 2022/08/08) */ The dental office refunded my money! Thank you so much for your help! BBB is amazing organization. Thank you for helping people!!! *****. Sent from my iPhone
