Project started in March 2021 and was completed July 2021. We hired Outdoor Kitchens by Design to build an outdoor kitchen and he contracted All American Electrical Contracting to do handle the electrical work. Once all the work was completed we locked all the screen doors. With our last payment for the completed project cashed by Outdoor Kitchens by Design, we assumed the project was completed. In Aug/September we had a few inspections for the electrical work (luckily I worked remote so I was home to let them in), the appliances were all out and the covers on the outlets were off as well for the inspector to look at and he left everything as is. On Sept 17, 2021, **** ***** with Outdoor Kitchens by Design told us the day of (Sept 17, 2021) that the electrician (All American Electric) would be coming out as the electrical work failed by the county 2x, we informed him right away that we were not home and that the doors were locked and they would not be able to access the patio. **** sent a text several hours later asking us to call him later. We get home and notice that our screen door is busted open and the door is bent and all the electrical work was put back together and appliance were put back in their original place. **** explained that it was our fault that we didn't leave the back door unlocked for the electrician. We were unaware that the electrician was coming out until after we were gone for the day for work which he was aware of. **** explained that he would take care of the door being replaced and unknown to us he transferred the responsibility over to the All American Electrical to take care of it directly with us. It's been over a month and still no resolve and they are trying to say it was not them, when all the electrical work was completed and our contractor Outdoor Kitchens by Design told us that it was All American Electrical. The door repair is $250, and the vendor Colonial Construction is asking for prepayment to avoid any issues.

      Good Morning *******

It was nice to speak with you yesterday and wanted to provide you the info requested for my client the (*************) ID#********

I sent a ck directly to the screen company (Colonial Construction) on 10-29-2021 my ck#**** for $250.00 for the screen door damage caused by my electrician.

As you know there are always two sides to a story, we jumped through hoops backwards to try and make this customer happy and we had a problem through-out the project with them insisting on locking the screen door and making it difficult to get in the screen room to complete our work, they live in a very nice upscale neighborhood in Rivertown but were concerned about someone coming in their backyard a stealing there flat screen TV on the covered  lanai. We explained to the ************* that a simple screen door and screen walls will not keep out a thief if he really wants your TV, he would simply cut the screen and take it. The key word is (THIEF) if a bad guy is going to break in your backyard through your tall wood privacy fence the screen is not going to stop him. We build beautiful outdoor kitchens for our clients in the Jacksonville area and have been doing it for over 20 years and have very few complaints from any customer’s in that long period of time and I am proud of the reputation we have achieved over the years. Unfortunately I have found no matter how hard you try you will occasionally come across a customer that makes that a challenge to achieve…

      Thanks,

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

**** with Outdoor Kitchens by Design, did in fact pay for the repairs after over a month of trying to avoid paying for the repairs by pawning it off on his other vendor.  The lies provided below claiming that we live in a crime-free neighborhood and that we said we we were worried about someone stealing our tv was a conversation that was not had. The project was completed in July so we locked up the pack patio, that is our choice not his as it is not his home to make those decisions. He had repairs to do a couple months after the job was “completed” due to his electrician having several failed inspections, he was instructed to let us know when someone would be out, he did not do so and therefore his vendor broken into our property and **** v felt the need to yell at us about it’s our fault.
**** made the entire process a headache with his lack of communication, ignoring calls and text, had to block our phone # and he would magically pick up.  A 4-6 week project took more than double the time.

      Regards,

      ******** ***********

      Good Morning *******

This is in response to the letter I received dated 11-24-2021.

I will take the time to respond to this matter.

      1. We built this client a beautiful custom designed outdoor kitchen to match the décor of their house and listened to each and every detailed request by the client and completed the kitchen to the exact spec’s requested and the result was a level -10 (perfectly built outdoor kitchen, which is our main goal.

      1. We were not way over the time frame to build the kitchen as the customer claims, we were well with-in the projected time frame that we indicated it would take to complete the project and we did communicate with the client through-out the project as it moved along. We did have several issues with the final electrical inspection at the end of the project which is what caused this problem with my electrician braking the screen door handle. We have now paid- full to have it fixed as the client requested. We did try and communicate about leaving the screen door open for us with some level of flexibility so the inspector and my electrician could get in to do the final steps required to finish the job. Unfortunately the communications was not clear on both sides in my opinion and I am very sorry for the problem it caused.

      1. Also, I did not yell at *** ** **** *********** and do not like being accused of something that did not take place. We hope they can put this to rest and enjoy the beautiful kitchen we built for them..

      Thanks,
