I purchased a condo in ******* ** in August of 2023. The condo needed a new AC unit and we found this company, Precision Air Solutions. From the installation, the outside AC was not level and was uneven on the gravel. The owner refused to level it because it was codeOnce the permit was pulled and the *************** inspector came out to inspect the unit (4 months later after procrastination from the owner *** with Precision Air).. the inspector for the city also found that they failed to install caps on the Freon gauges and had no UV protectant on the outdoor piping. They left duct tape on the plumbing, all of which (according to the inspector/code R. 403. 4.1) is a code violation. Nevertheless, my AC unit failed inspection. Now the owner is *** and will not resolve the problem. Hes fighting against the code and the *************** stating that he is up to code and correctly installed my unit when hes clearly wrong and the inspection report shows the opposite. The owners name is *****************, he is extremely shady and robbed me of my money to do subpar work on installing my AC unit. I have email threads to show conversations and timelines between me and ***.

I called Precision Air out to service my AC which stopped working. I was told it was a blown capacitor and charged $359.97 for repairs. The unit ran for about 3 hrs before it died again. This has been a habitual problem with the system since the install. Precision Air returned the same day and told me the control board and compressor were also burned out and needed to be replaced (quoted $1520). The Precision tech told me to stop paying the finance company that installed system and they'd finance a new system with a new company, I presumed this was because they'd pay off the york system they previously installed but the finance docs they send did not include that I had another company company out to check the work whom found 1. The Capacitor was wired into the system wrong causing it to burn out again 2. The control board was undamaged and working 3. The compressor was undamaged and working, but the power wires were cut and laid on a copper pipe causing it to ground out I chose to have the other company document the repairs and proceed I contacted the finance company (Service Finance Co) whom looked into it from their end and discovered that NO PERMITS were filed for the AC install by Precision Air in 2019. I've contacted and visited Precision Air several times since then to obtain a refund. The owner agreed to provide the refund, in full, every time but failed to send it, drop off or let me pick it up. Ray is always out of the office when I visit, across town or forgot to drop it off. At this time I'm asking for BBB help in this matter as Ray (precision air) seems to be hoping I will drop the matter. I'm also pursing this complaint via the DBPR I will not accept anything less than a full refund of $359.97 I'm deeply angered and disappointed by Ray's, his company and his employee's unprofessional actions in this matter. I get that times are hard, but that's never and excuse for deception

      Business response

      09/12/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/02) */ This is definitely defamation. I was going to give ********* his money back but after this i certainly will not. Firstly my tecnician went back 3 days after we installed the capacitor (6/23/22). Original visit was 6/19/22. capacitor had 0% Microfarad. He was informed of what the issue was and approved the repair. The AC worked fine for those 3 days . He called on the 6/23/22 and said the was not cooling again, we dispatched a tecnician right away and the technician found the compressor thermally locked (overheated). The technician recommended replacing the compressor and ask me to only charge him for refigerant which i approved. 10lbs @$149/lb. no labor charge. He claimed he didn't have the money so my tecnician informed him that the repair(refrigerant) can be financed $1520.00 not a completely new ac system ac Mr.********* claims. Regarding mis-wiring the capacitor , any ac company or technician can agree that a compressor will not run if the capacitor is incorrectly wired so i that's a lie because he himself claims it only worked for "3hrs and died again" his words. it was 3 days not hours. Regarding the AC not working since we installed it is also another lie, we do go back annually because the overflow shut-off switch turns of the ac when the drain line is clogged. We went back in 2020, 2021 & 2022 and didn't charge him for any service or maintenance and i'm guessing he's expecting all my services and maintenance of his ac for free just like i sold him the ac at almost my cost because he was renting next door to our warehouse and he was our neighbor. It's very sad to help people and when you can't any longer they change into something unexpected. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/08/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This isn't defamation at all. Ray had no intention of returning the money and dodge me for multiple weeks. The AC only worked for 3 hours (I have text message documentation) and after the tech visited ON MAY 19th, not june and when he came back he did so after hours after I called him directly, precision's office was closing and they didn't dispatch him. I have bank records and receipts (reciept included) for to prove this. Ray ran me around for a month making excuses and blowing me off before I finally decided to start taking escalated action such as going to the BBB, DBPR/City of Orlando and posting a review. As for the capacitor itself, I was told during the install the capacitor is normally something that lasts for at least 20-years and normally the last thing checked, multiple other ac companies of reputation have told me the same. So either the capacitor was defective, or, as sunshine heating and air discovered, wired incorrectly. I do not believe the precision air technician was honest in telling me that capacitors die all the time. I was not informed of any discount on the charge or labor but 'the price was raised because of inflation' by his technician. I am not seeking refunds for prior visits, only the last visit in May. As for the prior servicing, Ray didn't come out after 2020 because his employees refused to wear PPE/Masks inside my home during the pandemic and chose to scream and yell at me in my driveway instead of putting on a facemask to check the drain or anything on the machine. As for not paying for the visits, its because your techs were not allowed to come into my house for service. There has never been a clogged drainline issue, but drains slowly because they patched into a 25+ year old drain pipe instead of running a new one. In 2020 I was specifically told by Ray's office manager after ray's tech fought with me he didn't care what arrangement ray had with me or told me, he ran the office and he was in charge, not ray. I don't expect the services to be free, I expect the technicians to be honest and honor their word. Not sabotage, mislead and lie to me. aS for the AC being sold at cost, I don't believe that was ever true as the system in financed for $7118 while the average system in central florida runs $4,500 to $6,500 per my research for similar homes. And while I did used to be a neighbor to ray and had a lot of respect for the company he was building, his own actions and his employees completely destroyed that. I am disgusted Ray chose to lie and gaslight his way out of this in his response. Shame on you ray. My original request for a refund of the MAY 24th service amount stands.
