Mike came highly recommended from another company, so we decided to go forward. 6/24/22. He demanded a deposit up front to get the decane unit. He said he would meet us at 730 am then wanted the check made out to him personally not the business.... He didn't arrive until two hours later. He then returned hours later with the unit, and I asked him to not smoke cigarettes near our home as my mom is on oxygen. He smoked during the entire time of the outside install next to and underneath the houses. I was a nervous wreck. He finally finished as it was getting dark and didn't bring the tools to finish the job. He left his gauges on the schrader valve and said he would be back next day. He said the invoice is for "his dads company, but he is his own boss and crossed out dads number. But was still wearing southland mechanical shirts and gave me their invoice with the warranty on it". He didn't come back next day for gauges, however he then kept calling at 6am to get them on different mornings. The AC will not get below 79 no matter what it's set to. We have had mike out more than 4 different times and he is more than an hour late EVERYTIME. He screamed at me on the phone and called me cussed me out on the phone because I asked him to honor the warranty and told me "he is doing us a favor" and fix the brand new unit they installed that hasn't worked in a month. This is for my elderly moms house. She just fell on Wednesday due to the heat.. I have called the owner and left a message and no call back. So if mike is an apprentice, Jim doesn't care. According to DBPR mike does not have a valid license for any services he was offering. He is unwilling to come out on anytime minus when he says , even then he is still late. Today he arrived 28 minus past the window he gave. He states he installed a sight glass (cutting into the newly installed copper line) to check for moisture & then told us he installed a unit too small for our home & he will not honor the warranty.
