BEWARE of this company, City Cab of Orlando! I reported to **** of America alleged fraud. I never took this taxi and they charged me $53.88! This had to be the taxi cab driver I used the day before from CMT Orlando taxi that possibly scanned my credit card! I left the Orlando airport to go to my Orlando hotel. That was a valid ride, however, the next day, CMT taxi charges me when I NEVER was in their taxi and have proof of my whereabouts all that day! With receipts from Uber and Lyft!I advise using only Uber and Lyft**** of America will refund my money, but from now on, I will NEVER trust another taxi cab company!!!Mears Transportation Group Response

Dear *********,We apologize for the possible erroneous Charges. CMT Orlando is the credit card processing company we use for all of our taxis. Did the taxi contractor swipe your credit multiple times or did you experience a "timeout" with the credit card processing device? SCAM - Grossly Overcharged for Taxi Dont use Mears I called Mears twice and was quoted $32 to $40 by two different dispatchers for a trip from Universal *************************** to the *************. Instead, we were charged $75 per their meter. Their taxi brought ** right down I-4 and there were no slowdowns.I sent Mears 3 emails asking them to explain this discrepancy but received no response. To fully document my complaint, I attached screenshots of the taxis meter and texts showing an elapsed time of 21 minutes from dispatch to arrival.So, now Im really irritated and I recommend avoiding Mears at all cost.Mears Transportation Group Response

Please answer the following questions and send directly to me. Did you call and order the taxi during which phone call or was a taxi staging at the hotel? What phone number did you call us from. We would like to review the phone conversation? What was the date and time you ordered the taxi or got into the taxi? How did you pay for the taxi? I booked Mears bus transportation from Orlando International Airport to **** ************* ******************* on 10-16-23. When I arrived, they placed me on a passenger van with nine other people. The driver did not properly close the back doors where the luggage was stored. While driving on I-4, the back door flung open and two suitcases spilled onto the highway. One of those bags was my carry-on suitcase. The driver eventually pulled over and was able to retrieve both pieces of luggage. My suitcase was damaged. I have sent pictures and numerous e-mails to Mears about this experience, but they have done absolutely nothing to attempt to rectify their error.Mears Transportation Group Response

For people that are looking to get into driving taxis, DO NOT drive for Mears Checker or City taxis. They give you faulty equipment and expect you to pay them for the use of equipment that is trash. I was given a taxi which it’s tablet was sending me to pick ups at wrong locations. It would freeze up and not let me take calls or drop no shows. They have vehicles sitting in their lots for months and those are the vehicles they rent out. Full of roaches, old food. It was disgusting getting into the vehicles. The first day they gave me a vehicle that was having electrical issues and they still want you to take it out like that.Mears Transportation Group Response

We booked transportation to and from Univeral Studios (FL)from our Disney resort (French Quarter) The driver was directed to pick us at MCO airport, not the resort! That caused a delay of 30-40 minutes getting to Universal in the morning. W/theme parks every minute counts! In the evening another mixup. The driver was an hour late(they were directed to the wrong location) Our next trip we will not use Mears. Either *********, resort to theme parks. And Sunshine flyer to/from the airport. Taxi driver badge number ****
Tried telling us it was 70 dollars from the start because Uber was over $100 for the ride back to old key west from universal Orlando. We paid 34.60 the day before from the same exact location pick up and drop off. Tried fighting with me about how it's more money because gas prices and traffic. Never started the meter. Started driving and then tells us if we wanted to Uber we should have done that. I'm disgusted with the service. I've tried calling the mears phone number with no luck.

I am still in stunned disbelief at appalling customer service I received today. I request a cab via your app 5 hours in advance. That cab never arrived. When I called your "customer service" I was essentially told that Mears doesn't send cabs simply because one has been requested and that I should shut up and you would send a cab when you got around to it. "We don't guarantee service. We're not a ride service like **** or ****." Direct quote from someone who identified herself as a "supervisor". She seemed to think I was being grossly unreasonable in expecting a transportation service to actually provide transportation service. The only thing this supervisor did right was cancel my cab...some 45 minutes AFTER it was supposed to arrive. This is a company that seems to have forgotten that it is in the SERVICE business and given the numerous complaints found online doesn't appear to care. Sorry, but that's the same canned answer I've seen from Mears to every complaint I've come across. Basically, you're saying you couldn't care less about the problems you caused and can only provide excuses. Your business can no longer be trusted and that's why you won't be getting a chance to serve my transportation needs in the future.Review from Griffin S

Just get an **** or a **** instead of mears. My family and I have utilized Mears Transportation twice now and both experiences have been horrific. The first was a shuttle from the airport to a disney world resort. The shuttle was an hour late and there was now communication about this delay to us. This lead to my family getting to the resort at past 2 am in the morning. The second time was a ride to the airport in the morning with an over 40 minute delay. This lead to almost missing my flight. I was scared the entire time my checked bag would not arrive with me since I arrived so close to my take off time. Again there was no communication. For the second ride, two families actually gave up on waiting for this bus to show up. To reiterate, an hour late the first time, 40 minutes the second, arriving at 2:30 am to the resort, and almost missing your flight. That's the Mears experience. But at least they have buses with sparkles on them. Learn from the mistakes of my family and the other families. Getting an ****, ****, or taxi will be way easier and save yourself the headache. A driver for Mears Transportation put our lives in danger. On 12/24, we had the misfortune of having driver *****. This driver exceeded the speed limits throughout the drive (11 miles) and was driving erratically. My attempts to file a complaint with the company have not succeeded as no one will answer the phone. ON NOVEMBER 20TH 2021 I HAD A SUPERSHUTTLE RESERVED TO BE PICKED UP AT SAFFIRE FALLS HOTEL.. WE WERE PICKED UP RIGHT ON TIME . THE DRIVER WAS MOST COURTEOUS. I HAD MY FIANCEE WITH ME WHO STRUGGLES WITH MULTIPLE ILLNESSES AND USES A WHEELCHAIR. THE DRIVER USED THE HANDICAP LIFT FOR HER. WHEN WE GOT TO THE AIRPORT WE WERE LEFT ON THE LOWER ARRIVAL LEVEL WITH A WHEELCHAIR AND 4 PIECES OF LUGGAGE. WE ASK FOR A SKY CAP AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NONE AVAILABLE. OF COURSE THERE WERE NONE AVAILABLE THEY WERE ON THE DEPARTURE LEVEL WHERE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE.. THE DRIVER WALKED US TO AN ELEVATOR. MY POINT IS HOW DO YOU LEAVE PEOPLE WITH 4 PIECES OF LUGGAGE AND A WHEELCHAIR TO LEVELS BELOW WHERE YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO DROP THEM OFF. I CALLED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT BUT I HAD TO DEAL WITH TWO INCOMPETENT NASTY FOOLS. I INTEND TO TAKE THIS MATTER FURTHER WITH THE HANDICAP ASSOCIATION. While we completely understand the frustration, the service can only drop at one location as directed by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. Unfortunately, this is not something that is within our control. The airport requires motorcoaches to pick up and drop off all guests on Level One. ****** service is supposed to be available upon request with the airport as well.
