My wife and I took out a life insurance policy with ***** **** Agent, Alfredo Ortega, in 2003. Recently, we received a letter telling us the insurance was up for renewal on June 1, 2023. Our annual payment would go from $1,704 to $15,216. The letter says the policy will automatically renew if we do not take action to cancel renewal. We have tried to contact Mr. O***** through numerous phone calls, visits to his office, and emails to cancel automatic renewal. His email is not listed on his website and requires some digging to find (only an online form that does not leave us proof of an email sent to him). His office assistant who answers the phone says she will relay messages and requests for a return phone call, but he does not call back. Despite knowing we are senior citizens on a fixed income and that this is an urgent, time-sensitive matter that can be economically catastrophic to us, Mr. O***** does not respond. His refusal to respond is unethical. I am concerned for myself and others who may be in a similar situation.
