Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2022/09/13) */ Day2Day Renovations LLC RE: Complaint Case #******** The Client contracted me on 8/15/2019 to make improvements to her bathroom. Work was scheduled for 9/3/2019 and began on time. Upon completing the job, the Client satisfied the final invoice dated October 5, 2019. It has been nearly three years since I completed the job at her home. In that time, the Client has not contacted me with concerns or complaints of any kind. Customer satisfaction is the upmost importance and I take pride in my craftsmanship. Had she called me when she first noticed and issue, I would have met with her immediately to assess the area of concern. I was not given that opportunity. Instead, she called another contractor who demoed the shower and surrounding area prior to her contacting me. I asked the Client for an appointment to meet with her in person in hopes of getting a better understanding of the situation, but she has not accepted. In her complaint she accuses me of lacking the proper materials so I have included details in my response below. On 9/3/2019 I demoed the existing shower and removed debris. I poured concrete floor sloping toward the drain. Two coats of RedGard Waterproofing and Crack Prevention Membrane (Manufacturer MSDS in attachments) were applied to seal floor and shower curb. I installed DensShield Tile Backer, which has a built- in moisture barrier and is ideal for ceramic tile underlayment, (Manufacturer MSDS in attachments) using coated backer screws. Over the DensShield backer, I used Fiber tape then applied RedGard Waterproofing and Crack Prevention Membrane. When I finished the job, I ran the shower confirming all areas were sealed and draining properly. The Client recently sent a photo of her bathroom. (In attachments) In the photo, all the areas I worked on had been demolished. In the rubble on the shower floor, pieces of RedGard (red) and DensShield (yellow and grey) are clearly evident. In another photo she circled an area of the wall outside the shower in red. I did not work outside the shower area. This area of the outer wall is next to the glass shower door hinge. The photo shows the shower door seal is missing. The Client contracted another company to install the shower door after I completed my work and left. I take pride in my workmanship and as a result most of my business comes from client referrals. Had the Client given me the opportunity to assess the area while my work was still intact, I could have identified the issue and worked toward a satisfactory solution no matter the cause. Consumer Response /* (3000, 17, 2022/09/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Mr. D** has been contacted by myself on more than one occasion requesting a response to my concerns. He has not responded to the itemized letter sent concerning the specific areas of concern. He has also not responded in a timely fashion to requests for the information. Additionally, there has been no request to meet with me. Mr. D** has disregarded the correspondence sent to him. The workmanship was below industry standards resulting in further damage to the area. A response to my itemized correspondence of points to be addressed is once again requested. Business Response /* (4000, 21, 2022/10/06) */ ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Bill d** Date: Wed, Oct 5, 2022 at 12:30 PM Subject: Complaint #******** To: Better Business Bureau ******************* Good afternoon******, Thank you for reaching out regarding Ms.***** recent response. The photos she provided, three years after I completed the work, clearly disprove her allegations against me as previously explained in detail, therefore I stand by my response to her complaint. Thank you, Bill D** Owner Day2Day Renovations Consumer Response /* (4200, 23, 2022/10/12) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Mr. D** continues to fail to respond to my previous correspondence delineating my concerns and requesting a response. Although he claims to stand by his work, additional professionals in the field do not agree with his statement. He did not complete the work to industry standards resulting in the renovation having to be completed by another professional. Mr. D** has failed to discuss the lack of green board being used as well as additional concerns which were sent to him directly. It appears that Mr. D** is not considering the information provided or responding to the exact points concerning his work
