I was shopping at the Scottsdale Fashion Mall, and was offered a free sample of Truffoire products by a salesman. I allowed them to try a few products on my skin, and it felt fine at time of trial, other than some tingling that the sales rep said was a normal tightening reaction. The sales rep then began to hard sell/haggle me on multiple items. I was interested in the items, but he was giving ball park figures of each item and mentioned he'd give a bundled price, but didn't do the math of the total for me. I was interested in the products, and thought the deal sounded alright, so I gave him my credit card. He rang me up without telling me the total (after all the back & forth); he charged my card and gave me the receipt. I went home, and a couple hours later felt stinging on my skin where the product had been applied (my face, and especially under my eyes). My under eyes began to twitch, so I looked in the mirror and the skin was puffy, peeling, and turned slightly purple/discolored. The samples were giving me a bad reaction. I looked at the receipt, and it said "No returns, only exchanges", which wasn't mentioned during the entire sales process. I emailed the company, and they said their vendors have their own return policies, and they won't intervene. So I tried to file a dispute with my bank, and it was ruled in the vendor's favor because it was an "in person purchase" and I had the right to refuse the purchase before buying. In my defense, the issue didn't arise until AFTER buying. I think the sales process of haggling back and forth, while not telling the customer the total, nor explaining the return policy, was extremely misleading; and an exchange is not what I'd want after realizing their products do not agree with my skin. Not only is it a bad product, but it's a bad business practice, and poor customer service.
