Since September I requested a warranty service for a pool sun shelf light. To this day I had not received my service for the product under warranty that I bought from this company. All I get is excuses that the part is not available.Business response

The customer was made aware on several occasions that we had a waiting list for warranty light ************ but was still unsatisfied. There is nothing that could have been done without putting his request ahead of those waiting longer. For the record, the light was replaced on 11/14/2023.Initial Complaint

October 2021: The person servicing our pool failed to secure the panel door that houses the mainframe and breakers for the pool equipment. We had a major storm that evening, and when I noticed that our pool was not flowing like it should the next day, I went outside to check on the equipment and found the panel door wide open and the display flashing in error. I called immediately to have someone come look at it which took a while. Indeed entire panel had to be replaced. In addition, the LED lights in the pool flicker on as if there is a short. Pool Care Specialists refuses to admit that there was any water damage and that after 5 years, equipment just needs to be replaced. Because I am a trusting person, we paid for the new panel and a few other pieces of equipment that had stopped working properly at the same time - which just can't be a coincidence. After continuing to find the panel box open after they had serviced the pool and their refusal to take any responsibility for the many repairs needed, I cancelled their services in February 2022. We have now had two people from different companies come out and look at the issues with the lights, and when I tell them about having to get the panel replaced, they each said it is 100% due to water damage to the panel when the door was left open. We have already paid Pool Care Specialists $4,000 of the $7,000 needed to repair damaged equipment. They also replaced a spa actuator a few months ago (which went bad at the same time as all the other malfunctions), and it is already having to be replaced again for $350. We also found out that in the 5 years they serviced our pool, the filter is still the factory filter that came when the equipment was installed, which usually needs to be replaced about once a year. The new pool company had to clean out green algae growth in one of the small filter buckets because the equipment had been neglected for so long. I want them to make this right and pay for the repairs.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/04/14) */ We have had extensive email communication with the customer which addresses and rebuts her claims such as: (1) It cannot be proven that our technician left the panel door open (2) This enclosure houses several components but only one was damaged and it is not uncommon for these components to fail after a few years (the equipment was just over 4 years old at the time). (3) We replaced the failed part under the manufacturer's one year parts warranty and although labor would typically have been her responsibility, we did not charge her as a sign of good faith which she agreed was a step in the right direction. (4) She claims based on another servicers opinion, the element filter is the original one because "replacement filters have a different coloring". This is untrue, the only time the coloring differs is depending on if a manufacturer direct replacement or an aftermarket replacement is used. We have record of replacing the element filter in October of 2020. (5) She claims they've paid us $4000 of the $7000 needed for repairs, which again is untrue. They paid approximately $2400 in repairs in 2021 with the bulk of that happening prior to the board issue. The board replacement repair was $900. (6) She claims the new company had to clean out green algae from the pump basket but again there is no way to prove that was our fault because it was not brought to our attention until a month after we stopped servicing her pool. We also spoke to the other servicer that she consulted with to rebut and educate them and also provided her email addresses for the manufacturer's local representatives so that they could verify what we were saying was true. At this time, we do not believe she has contacted them.
