      I was charged almost twice as much for my storage unit on ********** *****. Upon speaking with the local employees (who have never been an issue, and neither is this specific location) I was informed a letter was mailed out from corporate to say the rent would be almost doubled.I receive all correspondence (exceptfor this letter apparently) via email. The letter was sent to an old address as I'm in the processing of locating a home in another state. I cannot update my mailing address yet because I do not have one to update to.I never received this document as I'm sure the post office will confirm and didn't know this change would take place nor did I agree to it. My payment was on auto pay. The increase was from $84 to $156. Had I known this I would've arranged for my items to be cleared out and stored elsewhere.I have had no problems with the company until now and the employees at my facility are lovely, but this is not acceptable. If my updates are sent via email this drastic change should not have been an exception.

      My husband and I signed for a storage unit which was $297 month with Life Storage. The unit after a few payments went up about $70 a month with no warning or anything. When i called them, they said bc it was sold to Extra Space they were raising the prices. I have a contract with Life storage not extra space and nowhere did my contract ok this. I also asked months prior to have my payment date moved and no option was given to me so we had to keep paying the late fee for a few days late bc its always paid on the first. In order to keep my business, they agreed to keep my unit at $297 and was told my payment date should have been moved months prior for this. So they credited me $180 and moved my payment date to the 2nd. However bc i refused to sign the new contract bc it was missing key things, my payment has gone back up and my payment date moved back. They are trying to strong arm me into signing a contract that doesnt have my property value or the original payment amount. I went to my unit a few weeks ago and i have mold growing all over my furniture. And now they are acting like they cant help until i sign the new contract. This is fraud! I want my billing corrected and a correct contract! Nobody should be scammed out of money for fees! My unit is for $297, if they want to raise it then i need a new contract period. Plus i have about 10k worth of furniture reuined bc of their issues with mold. All around a bad situation for us!

      The company has now moved my date after telling them i filed a BBB complaint. They gave me a credit for $100 but has since taken it back. I advised that I would not be strong armed into signing a new contract in order to have my date moved. This may be the worat company i have ever delt with. It appears the insurance was also filled in by someone at Lifestorage. The insurance coverage on my account should have always been for $15k. Now several of my items have mold growing all on them. I feel like they are trying to scam people at this point. No new contract has been sent or paperwork for the insurance.
