I received a call from a man claiming if I paid them $199 for 3 years my student loan would be forgiven. I told him I thought that sounded to good to be true and then claimed he was associated with the Dept. of Education. He told me that they would requalify me yearly. I asked, "What if I don't qualify every year." He said, "why wouldn't you qualify?". At one point he used the phrase, "Kicked out of the program." So I kept pressing him to understand what happens to my loan after three years of paying $199 per month. He wouldn't give me a direct answer and tried to side step the question. When I called him on it point blank, he hung up on me. Not a legit company and I was stupid enough to fall for allowing him access to my account with just my phone number and date of birth so he knew my total loan amount. I immediately changed my password and now I'm hopeful he wasn't able to get into my account and cause me trouble down the road. Please be cautious and ask lots of questions. He was getting irritated with me so I quickly suspected he was not with a reputable company.

person called said that they work with the Dept of Education, asked for my password.. i said why do you need my password and he said you don't have to give me your password.. i can send you a text to change it.. so he texted me and then i provided the code that was generated.. stupid me i continued to talk to him on the phone..he was able to get into my account and look at the amount of student loan i had . i asked again if he is Dept of Education and he said no and that his company assist getting student loans forgiven.. and went to his spiel on how because there are so many application, the Dept of Education does not have the resources or the time to go through all the application due to Covid, and that is when his company comes in the picture. They supposedly will gather all your documents including your proof of income submit and will lower the number of months to payoff the student loan. Honestly, once he said all I needed to do is sign up and they will do the rest. That is when I said " STOP!". is this one of those services that i need to give you $450.00 and you do the paperwork for me so my student loan can be forgiven? He said no, there is a processing fee.... GOTCHA! there you go, so I sign up and give you my money and you disappear. Told him I've been swindled before same spiel in the end when I called for an update on my application with *******, was told they never received any application.. and I was out $450...This company is a FRAUD!
