I was recommended *********************** by a fellow church member. I am recently married and found out my wife owed back taxes after we were married. So we needed help with her taxes. We did as she instructed. Then she said we should file jointly for 2021 together under injured spouse status. I said to her several times that I think we should file separately, and then I should claim our son on my taxes. That way we wouldn't be penalized in our money taken from the *** for my wife's back taxes. She assured us that would not happen once we had resolved all of the back tax issues and my wife was on a payment plan for the taxes owed. Once all that was taken care of and she had a payment plan set up and she received money back from the *** for a previous year, my wife. again I said I think we should file separately in order for me not to be penalized. ***** again assured me that we would not be penalized and that we would get a full refund. She lied, here it is Christmas time and I get a tax refund of a minute amount for the joint filing. We're out over **** something dollars I would not recommend this service to my worst enemy. We were also talked down to by ***** several times both my wife and me. She was very condescending. She made a comment about being a full time homemaker/ Mom being boring. She also said to me about me looking "tired", I work ***** a week to support my family, which I feel she stole $****. Plus from.Business response

With careful review of the client's information, all has been resolved.
Client was advised accordingly per *** tax code on what they should do as Married Filing Jointly. It was also reviewed with Client's the different outcomes for Married Filing Separate and Injured Spouse. ***** explained all returns in full detail as to every scenario. Client and spouse signed and agreed to the filing status.
Per ***, they have the right to deny or approve any case presented to them. The *** approved this client's case but broke it into separate checks.
Our office cannot control what the *** does and how they do it. But our office will go above and beyond to find out from the *** why a decision was made.
Client's spouse has reached out to ***** informing her that they did receive the refund just in separate checks and all is resolved.Business response

We sought out tax services for filing our 2021 tax returns. We were assured they would be completed prior to the deadline and then advised an extension would be filed. When we voiced concern over the penalty the owner's response was "oh it's not that much money." Months later we are without resolution and still have no tax filing. Meanwhile Jennifer has gone on countless vacations and been out of office and does not communicate any updates. Last month they lost an employee and are now blaming all of their delays on this but had they filed within the appropriate timeframe we would not even be impacted by this. It is time for them to be held accountable and properly file our taxes and we should not be held liable for their incompetence.Business response

At Bee Square, one of our core values is personal accountability, and we intend to demonstrate that with this response. You were not able to receive the prompt, professional service that every one of our clients has received for the past 40+ years. It's understandable that you would be upset. As you can see from other reviews, this lack of responsiveness is not our norm. And neither was this tax season for our office. This is not an excuse; it's an explanation. Several unprecedented events affected our ability to respond to you and perform the job duties in the way you deserve. Half of the office became ill with Covid during the tax season deadline and then the passing of Rachelle our main bookkeeper, it all caused a huge delay in the timing of returns and bookkeeping being processed. It's strange how we never know how we'll be affected by these events and the impact it will have on our lives and the lives we touch. We have learned a great deal through this and now understand so much better what we need to put in place so that this will never affect another client. We really do appreciate your honesty in this review. Your tax return experience deserved to be as seamless and dependable as the experience of all our other clients' through the years. We thank you for letting us re-establish the communication rift this has caused. We are currently in the process of communicating with you daily on the missing information that we need to finish the amending of 2020 and the completion of 2021. There is not daily communication. ****** followed up with Rebecca multiple times to which she said she was waiting for him to send the vehicle loan information when he already informed her that we paid in full AND provided the receipt of payment. Al thought I am understanding of previous challenges over the past months, I was optimistic that efforts would be increased after my conversation with Jennifer. Rebecca has not made any additional efforts and continues to drag her feet in this entire ordeal. Still no solid resolution and no breakdown of summary. Pending the client would submit the correct information to complete the return. We got the last item needed on 08/03/2022. Once last item was received and it was paired with the returns. The return information was reviewed with the client on 08/04/2022 with the preparer and the returns E-filed once signature forms were received. If dates need to be submitted to BBB we can provide, we cannot provide entire email as its a client confidentiality breach. Client(s) had a clear understanding of both tax returns and the filing on 08/04/2022.
