Back in March of 2022 we bought a house at **************************************** through ******** Banker (real estate agent, Becky B******) Dynasty Title (title company located in Columbus, Ohio at ********************************************************. This is a separate office the the one in Florida, but still the same company) and ********* Bank (who our mortgage is through). When we closed on our house, as a part of our closing costs we paid $859 to go towards our home insurance (progressive). When we handed over the check at closing, Dynasty Title then sent a check to progressive for $859 to cover our insurance. When progressive received the check, they then processed it like normal and applied that to our premium. Progressive then discovered in April of 2022 that Dynasty Title placed a a stop payment on the check that they had sent, which then caused our insurance account to go "past due" and at that point, according to our insurance company, Dynasty Title should have either A: sent another check back to progressive, or B: sent us a refund for $859. Neither of those options happened. We have repeatedly tried to contact Dynasty Title via phone, email and even as far as going to their office in Columbus, but either no one is at the office (that states it is open on their website but is locked at all times) and no one will return our calls or emails. The representative or agent that helped us at closing (Cia M*****) apparently no longer works at Dynasty Title, and according to the Florida office there is only one person, Greg D*** **************, who still works for Dynasty Title in Columbus. However, we have also been in contact with someone else who works for Dynasty Title by the name of Bernee S****** that has a Dynasty Title email address and signature in his email. Dynasty Title Agency essentially stolen $859 from us and has made no attempt to contact us to rectify the issue.
