I purchased a 2004 SeaFox boat from this business. This boat was for sale on Facebook and this business beat me to the buy. The previous owner stated the steering was froze up. About month later ShipShape advertised the boat. He claimed he had replaced steering cable. The boat was as is and paid this business to repair a couple things. The issue started July, I took my daughter and grandson for a ride on the river and the steering cable broke and left us stranded. I contacted ShipShape and he told me he wasn't in marine repair business anymore. I took to Motorvrks Marine in Ormond Beach. John indicated steering was never replaced and was so corroded he had to cut it out. The repair was $588.50. I confronted ShipShape on lie about repair he claimed he performed and basically blew me off said boat was as is(never signed any document stating this). This individual is operating a curb-stoning operation, avoiding taxes and jumping titles. I'm looking for $588.50 for repair he claimed.Business response

My name is morgan ******* owner of ship shape marine services. Mr **** purchased my personal used boat which was registered in my name (morgan *******) he stated that I jump title and do not pay my taxes ! That could not be further from the truth mr **** purchased the boat with a loan from his bank the same bank made the check payable to me (morgan *******) if the boat was not registered to me they would not issue a check because I would not have the the registered owner of said vessel. Mr **** purchased a used boat from me (morgan ******* ) that he found on a Craigslist add for sale by owner! When he came to buy the boat he asked me what I do for a living and I told him I run a marine repair company. Never was it implied that my marine repair company was selling him the boat. I'm a repair shop not a boat dealer! Also for the record the boat mr **** is referring to is a 2004 sea fox 16ft fishing boat that spent all its life in salt water. This was a 16 year old boat at the time of sale. Mr **** can not provide any paperwork or receipts from ship shape marine services Llc because mr **** has never done business with my company. He contacted me about a month ago requesting $1200 now it's down to $588.50 at this point mr **** is making completely false accusations and clutching at straws. When you purchase a used boat from A private individual of Craigslist unfortunately it dose not come with a warranty especially 11 months later.
