I called the office to make an appointment and see if they take my insurance. They confirmed that they do. They asked for a deposit of $150 for insurance copays and for no-shows or appointments if canceled in less than 24 hours, and I agreed and paid the amount requested.After the first appointment went through, they told me that after they submitted the claim to the insurance, the insurance denied the claim because they cover psychological therapy and not counseling therapy, so there is going to be a charge of a $95 counseling fee.I argued that it was not my fault and that I trusted them to verify my insurance benefits prior to the appointment. ****, the supervisor, argued that they didnt know until the claim was filed. I work in the medical field myself. Insurance eligibility and benefits should be verified prior to the patient's appointment to determine whether the facility accepts the insurance or not or whether the service requested is covered. This is completely unprofessional and deceiving from a medical entity toward their patients.She refused to refund the $150, she refunded only the balance of $55.Initial Complaint

5/5/2023 300$ Mental health No didn’t even have the appointment but still charged me Won’t refund me my full amount. Rude, unprofessional, made excuses of why my appointment time was pushed back an hour to tell me I didn’t bother to tell me I had to call them. Everyone I talk to at the office was just rude.
