I hired ******************************** "Nino" to replace a sliding door with French doors and to replace a different worn out door in my house.9/7 - He texted me saying he could come by the next day 9/8 - He came to the house and took measurements, and said he would send me style options to pick from 9/12 - I texted him if he was going to send them after he hadn't for several days and he just texted me photos 9/20 - I provided my choice over text, he responded saying we needed to schedule him coming to measure the door spaces for fabrication cost estimates 9/21 - Came by in evening to take measurements and said fabricator would provide prices by noon next day 9/22 - He texted me saying fabricator was running behind and would have estimate by next morning 10/3 - I reach out to him over text after hearing nothing for 10 days and he said I would hear by the next day 10/6 - Reached out again over text, no response 10/10 - Reached out again and he briefly gave me rough costs 10/13 - I reached out wanting to move forward and he responded saying he would send me an invoice. He asked me for my full name which I guess was forgotten. He sent estimate and said he would return the next day to take measurements again 10/14 - He texted me telling me who to write the check to and that he was ordering the doors. Then he sent second text saying he miscommunicated and that he preferred cash or Zelle. He gave me the routing info and gave me a start date of 10/18, we would be out of town so I rescheduled to 10/25.10/24 - I reach out over text to confirm he was coming the next day. He confirms.10/25 - **** texted me a photo of his truck wheel and said he had an accident and needed to be towed.10/26 - **** texted saying he would have truck back by end of week 11/1 - **** texts asking if he could start 11/8, I agreed.Ran out of space. Other than another text conversation on November 11 from him asking to schedule and discuss issue, and then him not being responsive at his requested time, there are no updates.Initial Complaint

My Father died during covid living my mom alone with my 2 mentally ill brothers. We still have not buried Dad. I need to sell the house and bring the family near us, and than buried the ashes here near us, but the house needed a new roof and kitchen. I contracted a roof company that did a great job. They recommended better than the rest for the interior, and since he cane recommended we offer him the job. This guy stold our money. He left the interior in shambles and has disappeared with over 7k. We call the roof company and they told us to sue him because he owes them as well, why would they recommend him if he owed them money? We are now having people knocking at the door for money. The guys he sent to the house to do the pretend little bit of work to continue asking my mom for money, who felt pressured and kept paying Jose, told my Mom that Jose had not paid them. My Mom told him she had no more money to ask Jose. That guy told Mom he does this to elderly and desperate family's, he takes their money and desspears. I have 100 of text message from Jose who also goes by Mark C********* kept promising me to come, and never shows up. His used every excuse in the book. From my truck broke, to all types of sicknesses. I can offer all the text messages for months and months with no work done and pictures. What can we do? Please help as I fear this guy has scam hundreds of families in Florida.
