I paid Jackson Hewitt $400 to file my taxes for 2021 . They filed a simple electronic tax return in Feb of 2022 with direct deposit . I was promise 21 days . The employee took maybe 15 mins to file my tax return. She went so fast that I was concerned. After waiting until May and still not receiving it . I reached out to the branch manager at Jackson Hewitt Stephie ********** . Who instructed me to contact the IRS . I then reached out taking me over two hours to final speak to a person at the IRS . The IRS said that my tax return is in the error's department. I have to then wait on a letter from the IRS to instructed me on why my tax return ended up in that department. I Then reach back out to Stephie ********** to let her know by email. With a response back by email but she never contacted me .Finally in June 2022 I then contacted the IRS again telling them now I'm having a hardship due to the delay in my tax return . At that point the IRS took over giving me an advocate. I then received a letter from the IRS about what the error was and what they needed . The error was that the Jackson Hewitt employee didn't put my heath care amount in correctly. I had to go back to Jackson Hewitt to get them to fix the error and then send the correct info with the Letter back to the IRS. The advocate reach out by mail at the end of June taking over and I finally got my tax return back on July 11th 2022. The problem is it caused me to have a hardship with my finances . Pushing me behide on everything. Even to the point it effected my home and my credit . I would like to receive back my $400 from Jackson Hewitt . That's the least they could do for causing me so much trouble . I would never use this company again . I filed at Milton location / office is closed now they're at the pace location provided.
