We agreed that I would pay for the materials using my Home Depot credit card. I met with *** Pendleton at Home Depot. He selected all materials. Our first issue was that he selected the wrong type of screening. Chose to go to Home Depot on his own and purchase 98.00 of additional material. I was not asked for more money until I paid the 360.00 labor cost as outlined in his contract. I also, have a receipt for payment of 360.00. Contract was never signed because he refused to provide an updated one stating I purchased the materials and would just be paying for labor costs. Upon completion I saw the terrible craftsmanship and work that was completed. He built the frame at least six inches in from the current enclosure instead of framing it in or making the new frame completely adjacent and screen not tightWhen I asked *** Pendleton to mitigate this he demanded even more money, and accused me of "fussing over six inches" I've now lost adequate square footage in an already small space. When I asked why it was done this way he said my porch was not a square, which it most certainly is. I also, was not able to locate any licensing information for *** Pendleton upon researching further after the issue. He also did not file for a permit for the work with the county. Its my understanding that the business is responsible for this. I believe he did not because he is not licensed and insured as advertised or just gross negligence on his part. At this point I would request to be refunded 400.00 for the materials which will have to be torn down to properly have the job done and the labor cost of 360.00. Totaling $760.00. At a minimum I would request the labor cost of 360.00. I would also note that he has filed two small claims court cases against previous customers in 2021 due to them withholding payment for shoddy work. In both cases he was ordered to mitigate his work.
