      I shipped two fishing poles from this UPS location. One arrived fine, one did not. UPS did not offer to repackage, did not offer insurance or any additional assistance on the second pole. I filed a claim and the claim was denied. I am currently on the phone with UPS Corporate to re open the claim. UPS should reimburse me for the broken pole and the shipping cost.

      Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/06/14) */ Contact Name and Title: Frederick A****, Owner Contact Phone: ********** Contact Email: *********@theupsstore.com The Customer shipped two fishing poles via UPS from our The UPS Store 1249. One of which we packed under our pack and ship guarantee and it was delivered with not issue. The second pole was extra long and the customer made the decision to pack the pole (Fly Rod) themselves, using their own resources, in order to save money on packing as is their choice. Unfortunately, this pole arrived damaged by the carrier. We at The UPS Store 1249 handled the damage claim for the customer via UPS Claims, who after investigation denied the customers damage claim due to substandard packaging. We followed up with UPS Claims with no success. We explained the situation to the customer who threated us and posted negative reviews on our FB page, in which we responded in a factual manner. The customer has subsequently filed this complaint against our franchise via BBB based on their experience. While we feel horrible and apologized for their loss, they did agree to the terms of shipment when they placed it with UPS. This said, I would be more than happy to refund the UPS shipping fees for this fishing pole if asked, even though we did not pack it, insure it and UPS has refused to compensate them. Unfortunately, we are unable to cover the cost of repair or replacement of the damaged pole. Please express again our regrets and our hopes that we can resolve this issue as per above.
