Date of Transaction; November 18, 2023 I reached out to ****** of The Expert Handyman of Florida LLC to provide me a quote to install mini split Air Conditioning units. ****** provided me a quote and stated that the work did not require any permits from the city to complete. I am closing on the home (I just sold it) and the day of closing find out from the city of Lake Worth that the work that was done requires permits and now I have a code violation on the property which I need to rectify. Initial estimates are between $6,000-$10,000 to get the permits pulled but the issue is that I cannot find a licensed Air Conditioning contractor to help me pull the permits because they were not the ones who initially did the work. I paid ****** $3,000 to do the work (75% of the quoted amount) and am now forced to spend thousands more to fix the problems. If ****** would have been honest with me from the start on the true cost and requirements to do this job, I would have never done it. I am now at risk of losing the deal and not closing on the house because of this violation that ****** caused. He ensured me at time of booking that everything was being done by the book but I have been misled and lied to the entire time.
