I am beyond frustrated and regret using Florida Building Pros for my 35k metal roof install. I had issues in the beginning with them not showing up as promised and then leaving the yard a war zone of nails and slivers of metal everywhere. I repeatedly asked them not to cut the metal all over different places in the yard as the tiny shards were impossible to clean up and we have several small children. Despite repeatedly asking for them to clean up they didnt. We ended up buying a huge rolling magnet to clean up ourselves which took weeks. We didnt walk barefoot in the yard for over a year. The finish work was sloppy at best leaving funky chunks of visible sealer all over the roof. I waited months and had no reply regarding a new sealer they were going to use to fix the roof. Still not done. I had held a small balance at which point they said they would waive if I didnt hold them to correcting the sealant on the roof. Whatever. Moving on. Our brand new roof lost a small part in the front of the house during the storm. Mind you the roof was only a few months old and rated for much higher winds. Who would pay for the extra heavy gauge and 35k and not expect a 50 year roof to hold up? They obviously agreed because Pat - the owner- via text was fast to reply that he would be by to take care of fixing the area. A small amount of facia was torn off by the small area of roof which I have to pay another contractor to fix but cant do so until this roof is done. 5 months since *** has said he would come take care of it. A few months in he started ghosting me. I spoke to the office (answering service). I chatted with them on ********* I finally - after saying I was going to the BBB got a reply from *************************** - his brother- who then said he was going to take care of it for me. All in writing. He confirmed a day that the team would be there. They no showed. Then he said he needed more material. No showed. Now hes ghosting me. This is literally a joke.Business response

Contracted the business for a roof replacement job, made full payment on August 17, 2021. Owner of contracted roofing company did not place order for supplies until August 27, 2021. Roof was removed on August 30th and sealed, and roofing company confirmed seal was done to allow separate mold remediation company to begin remediation work inside of the home. However, after remediation work began, excessive leaking began and damaged inside of home, including cabinets, flooring and additional roof decking and ceiling. This leaking resulted in additional work for the remediation company, which they charged me $4,725 for. Roofing company was minimally responsive to contacting efforts to inform them of leaking issues. They insufficiently tarped an area of the roof that led to additional leaking and also failed to install flashing, which caused additional leaking and damage. Owner delayed action on account of personal matters that were his priority, several times. Employees of the company left nails and other materials all over the yard during the period of the contracted work and afterwards. A large satellite was thrown onto my plants, killing the plants and other areas around the house were damaged by materials being thrown off of the roof. After the roof was replaced, the company was informed of several parts of the roof where there are parts of the roof that were not installed properly/sufficiently, which could lead to problems later. Company responded that they would fix these along with the additional leaking damage that was caused by not installing the shining upon removal of the roof. The roof installation was completed as of September 25, 2021, but since then no inspection has been scheduled or completed, as included in the contract with the roofing company. Further, no corrective action has taken place to fix the aforementioned damages.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/28) */ ******* ********** and Florida Building Pros Inc. entered into contract on 08/14/2021 at 10:16AM when ******* Signed and Agreed to the terms and conditions of Contract Estimate #****. Materials were ordered on 08/17/2021 at 8:10PM (see proof in attachments) First, I, Kevin K. of Florida Building Pros Inc. would like to note that ******* ********** has had multiple roof leaks at ********************************** as a result of an unserviceable roof since at least before April 15, 2019, which was about 2 years and four months before entering into a contract with Florida Building Pros Inc. The interior at ***************************** has sustained tremendous damage as a result of gross negligence. Florida Building Pros Inc. will not accept responsibility for damages that occurred before ******* and Florida Building Pros Inc. entered into the contract estimate #****. On 08/31/2020 ******* reached out to Kevin K. of Florida Building Pros Inc. and informed him that *** ** ******** ******* ****** Florida had sustained more leaks. Florida Building Pros Inc. identified areas on the roof that were a result of what appeared to be storm damage. Florida Building Pros Inc. suggested to ******* that she should contact her insurance company and gave a reference to a company that could assist her. While working with her insurance company in an attempt to cover the loss, ******* allowed the interior of her residence at *** * ******** **** ****** Fl to be severely damaged in many areas and did not make any attempt to stop the leaks. It is imperative to mitigate the damage as soon as possible to prevent an excessive amount of damage. On June 07, 2021, ******* Reached out to Florida Building Pros Inc. and indicated that she was waiting on court results to determine whether the insurance company would cover the loss or not and wanted a price on a metal roof. ******* still had not done anything to mitigate the damage to *** * ******** **** ****** Florida. After executing the contract estimate #****, ******* started growing impatient with the length of time it was taking for the materials to arrive, so the roofing materials could be installed. There had been a tremendous supply crunch at the time and manufactures and distributors were very backed up. Correspondence with my supplier can be seen in the attachment section. ******* ordered a remediation company to begin work on the house even though the roof was unfinished and there were still active leaks. ******* ordered the remediation work to begin without Florida Building Pros Inc's consent and against the advice of the remediation company. The flat roof deck was so rotten that it was concave and was causing the roof to "pond", which is a roofing term to describe when water sits on a roof and is unable to drain. Although we attempted to tarp the roof to try and slow the leaks, the ponding water would seep right through the tarp into the structure at *** * ******** **** ****** Florida. Florida Building Pros Inc. will not be responsible for the damage or loss at *** * ******** **** ****** Florida because ******* ********* did not have Florida Building Pros Inc. consent to remediate the portion of house under the flat roof. ******* should have waited until the roof was installed and all active leaks had been Verified stopped. My personal opinion is that ******* and her father were so upset with the damage that they had allowed to happen over the last 2 1/2 years that we're lashing out at My company and Accusing us of incorrect installation and we're looking for every possible thing to hold us accountable for. We had a Final inspection completed on November 15, see attachments for proof of documentation. The city inspector observed that everything on the roof was done correctly and passed ********** with a status of approved. ******* is incorrect with her accusation of no inspection being done
