My Emotional support animal was treated for 6 days. He was cleared to go home. I called 4 times in 5 hours with concerns that they shouldn't have released him. They disregarded my concerns. I kept telling them something was wrong. They couldn't get him to eat for his entire stay. Still they discharged me saying he would probably eat for me, at home. Otherwise force feed him. I told them over and over something was wrong. I was already charged 2k more than the high end treatment plan. So, while waiting for morning so I could take him to someone else, he died in my arms. They have shown zero concern of the outcome. They kept saying just continue with meds, he will be OK. They told me that for the entirety of his stay while I visited him. I have received notices that this has happened numerous times. Animal seen, overcharged and sent home which died within 12 hours. I asked about swelling in his legs, rapid breathing, regurgitating while waiting to be discharged. "It's normal" he is excited and the swelling was from lack of protein? No, edema doesn't work like that. It is fluid build up for a reason. I know this for a fact. I don't know how a company with so many complaints with exact or similar issues have stayed below the radar of negligence. Yes, I am saying they were negligent in their act. You don't send an animal home that hasn't eaten in a week, is regurgitating still, breathing rapidly and groaning in pain. I called them 4 times in 5 hours and even let them hear him grunting. The receptionist said "it was an old man grunt" he was less than 8 yrs old. I now see why the business closed under a different name. You can't assume every animal is a dollar sign. He was an Emotional Support animal. I never approved or signed a new treatment plan that increased over 2k. My care credit card was on file. They saw the limit, told me what it was. I increased it, and they increased my bill almost maxing it out. No way should they have a clear bbb rating. No way.

Took my cat in two weeks ago due to sudden hind leg paralysis. Was told it was temporary nerve damage, was prescribed prednisolone, and was told that nothing else seemed afoot. I paid over 500 dollars for this. Not even three days later she lost all control of her hind limbs entirely. She could no longer balance even for a second. Her anal gland ruptured and I had to start putting her in diapers and applying antimicrobial spray and administering antibiotics that a vet online was able to prescribe me. They also suggested I take her into an in-person vet visit after several days of no progress. So obviously, I tried to return her to the original vet that diagnosed her with nerve damage in her hind legs. This vet was called the Animal Care Center of PCB. I was very open and honest about my disappointment, and my fear that she was severely ill and needed care, and i was very open that I couldn't afford to go in again and spend another 500 dollars for nothing to be fixed, once again as we had spent our savings on the previous visit. Instead of maybe admitting fault, and offering a complimentary checkup to determine what they COULD do, or a REFUND (at least half?!) of a useless and terribly wrong diagnosis that cost us over 500 dollars, they decided to tell me there was NOTHING else they could do for her, and that I should take her to a "specialist" in Tallahassee. Mind you, ruptured anal glands are capable of being treated by any vet. And I even asked if they could. Again, was told they couldn't do much else, and to take her elsewhere. Despicable people, disgusting empathy, and nothing but a professional facade to snatch any penny they can. Don't give them your business, it might just very well cost your pet their life.

    Animal Care Center Response

The patient was examined and radiographs were performed with the owner's consent. There were no obvious findings (fracture or luxations) on the radiographs. The Veterinarian suspected an acute nerve injury and prescribed a steroid for treatment. The client was advised that if the condition worsened or the patient lost the ability to urinate or defecate, she would need to be reevaluated, likely by a specialist. The client's mother contacted us by email 2 weeks after the initial visit, stating that the cat was not doing well and requested a refund for services. We were able to make contact with the owner of record a couple days later; it was explained that the pet should be evaluated by a Specialist with access to advanced imaging since we had already performed radiographs here. We also offered to return/refund the Revolution Plus the client purchased at the initial visit since finances were a concern.
