Back on December 22 2023 my husband was arrested. I met his former employer at A-1 Anytime Bonding, Inc. where the bond process was explained to me (his wife) and 10% of my husbands bond was paid to them, in the amount of $1,500. While my husbands former employer signed his bond paperwork, it was made known that at anytime anyone else was able to take over responsibility for his bond. While at first there was no issue, without warning or cause my husband was called into the bond office to "sign some paperwork" when in fact that was a lie, and when upon walking in they immediately took my husband back to jail. Which upon further investigation, the reason that my husband was taken back to jail, was not a legal reason. When I returned to the original bond office, they refused to return to me the the premium that was paid for my husbands bond. Due to this reason, I had to find another bondsmen and utilize their services, which costed me another $1,500.Business response

The complainant was not the indemnitor on the bond, in question, however the husbands employer was one liable for all court appearances. The indemnitor requested that the defendant be placed back into custody and no longer wanted to be responsible for the defendant, due to recent issues at the place of employment. Our actions are in accordance with the the Florida Department of Financial Services and we stand with our decision.Customer response

Yes, I am in compliance with the Department of Financial Services by placing him back in custody. Ms. ******, you are not listed anywhere on your husbands bond and you are not entitled to any refunds. The receipt is in the indemnitors name (Your husbands former employer)Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:Well, as it turns out, while I know that I was not the indemnitor on my husbands bail bond, and I understand what that means, you are in fact not in compliance with them. Although you may have tried to change any documents that you have access to, including but not limited to, the receipt, I have proof that the funds that were paid to you, to post my husbands bond, did in fact come from my mine and my husbands earnings. I also have proof that Steve Thomas refused to let me be the one to sign his bond in the first place.
