9/3/21; $492.06; I took a 1978 short school bus in to get looked at. I was specific was parts that needed to be serviced(lights, brakes, wheels/tires, I mentioned the battery dying on the previous owner, fluids needed to be 100% drained and replaced) because I was relocating and needed the bus to function properly so I could make it without issues. Immediately when I got it back to my previous residence I noticed half of the marker lights weren't working, I called the mechanic and they informed me that "it must've been something I did driving home(30 min drive) and that I could get it serviced in the next couple weeks for additional charges. We had to put pop on lights to use for the remainder of the drive(which is not legal). Driving from Florida to Idaho, the bus needed to be jumped a total of 4 times. In South Dakota it stopped starting altogether and had to be left to get serviced at a dealership in Sioux City. When I went to pick it up the glow plug relay was faulty and will need to be replaced(the cause of the bus not starting) and a shut off switch had to be installed on the battery, just before driving over the Rockies we stopped to get gas and noticed the brakes were seized(rusted over) and hadn't been working. The amount of rust currently on the brakes could not have happened in the 2 weeks it was in SD. Upon getting it back we realized the anti-freeze was a muddy color and ended up needing to be drained and replaced before it starts freezing. I have filed a claim with my bank for a reversal charge that Xtreme Fleet has disputed and denied my allegations above.

      Business response

      12/14/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/03) */ CUSTOMER: SABRINA ***** Customer initially called in requested information if we would be able to work on her type of vehicle. Customer provided information regarding type of vehicle including, but not limited to, year make and model. The vehicle is a 1978 short school bus in the process of being modified to be a DIY RV with license plate Z297LZ and VIN TPLXXXXXXXXXX. (Our system could not decode VIN number, due to age of unit) Ms ***** was advised that we do in fact work on busses, heavy duty trucks, etc. She was advised that due to us being a fleet company that our labor rates are higher then the avg shop. Ms. ***** requested that we go over the bus to ensure it was road worthy because it had been sitting for 2+ years & she was using it to tow a vehicle North on or around Sept 13th, that an oil change had been completed by the previous owner whom she bought it from recently (according to her), and to check over the wiring as a few instrument cluster gauges were not working. An overview of the bus was completed. The bus had no brake lights. The volt meter was wired incorrectly. The rear brakes were coming due to be change. The front end and front brakes were in proper operating conditions. The volt meter wiring was corrected. A visible wiring issue with multiple bad connections was found causing the rear brake lights to short, of which was corrected by running new line from the upper to lower cab harness and all other brakes in light circuit were repaired. Customer was advised to have us do a rear brake service due to the wear and tear conditions of them but customer declined. All concerns and request made by Ms. ***** were corrected and customer's vehicle was parked with everything working at that time. Customer came and paid for repairs made to bus. A few days to a week passed and customer called in to the office stating that lights were back to not working and would like corrected. The service writer and shop manager advised Ms. ***** to bring the vehicle back for repair and NO additional charges would be made as long as that they were involved with the previous repairs made. Ms. ***** was notified it would be a few days before we could get to it due to being a fleet maintenance shop and she would have to wait. Customer never brought back the bus.
