    After Hurricane Sally I asked around for a construction company. I was given Jonathans Flooring and Construction as a local contractor. They said he was very slow at getting things done but did a good job. I was given a very low bid but he was very reassuring about what he was going to do for me and how he could help get my house back to pre-hurricane condition. I had turned down other bids because I wanted to use someone local. Jonathan assured me that he was going to do what was best for me. Unfortunately that has not been the case. He stated they would start construction within a few weeks and it would take just a few weeks to complete. He stated this around May 2021. His crew didn't show the first time we had scheduled for them to come out. Most of the time they didn't show when we had pre scheduled appointments. There was no communication from his office either to let me know they weren't coming. Then the construction was done poorly and sub standard. I sent a punch list of items done wrong and nothing was done about it. I have lived in a house with no kitchen sink until recently and I had to pay someone else to fix it for me. I have had to use my tub as a shower, dishwasher, and a place to brush my teeth. They won't respond to any requests that I have made. There was almost no insulation in the walls and during the winter I had to buy space heaters to stay warm. They failed part of the building inspection and had to redo part of the insulation. I am still without the house being done. I haven't been able to cook, I haven't had the appliances due to the home not being complete and I just bought a stove and it doesn't fit to current standards with how they constructed the kitchen. I am an older person and I feel targeted by this company. I have since learned this is not the first time they have done this to a senior citizen. I want them to be held accountable and I am afraid they will retaliate against me. I just want my house complete with no further expenses.

    To Whom This May Concern, I hired Jonathan's Flooring for repairs to be done after Hurricane Sally. That was two summers ago. Apparently, I was put on the very low priority list for seniors. I called several times for appointments and was promised work would be done but very little was done the first year. Most of the time no one would come to those appointments. The first winter I had to buy space heaters since the furnace couldn't keep the house warm. A lot of insulation and drywall was missing, so I lived out in the living room. I had no sinks, only 2 bath tubs that were used for dishes, brushing my teeth and of course bathing. I had no appliances, since there were no counters for a stove to fit in and cooked on a hot plate and am still doing so since the counter they put in this last summer is too small for the stove width. They assured me a couple of weeks ago, that they would modify the counters to fit the stove. Hasn't been done yet. To their credit, though, I did get most of the work done this past spring and summer which included a lot of no shows on their part. I've requested that they finish their work, so that I can list it for sale and not lose all our equity to rising interest rates. If Jonathan had completed the house, at least by this summer, it would have quickly sold and we would have accepted their poor timeliness as just plain laziness but now I'm concerned that this could maybe be part of something bigger regarding seniors being short on funds to finish their houses. I surely do hope someone checks this out. I just got a new roof; I had run out of funds from the first year. I had voiced my concerns several times about losing my house but that did not speed them up in any way. Please don't let this happen to others; I hired them to finish my repairs completely and in a timely manner to no avail. Thank you, Respectfully Submitted, Bobbi (Roberta) Simpson 850.619.9219
