We signed a contract with Banks Construction in February 2021 and paid half of the cost of the contract as a deposit in the amount of $60,000. From that day to present, Banks Construction has only provided nine days of work on our home and has Failed to complete any of the work that was promised in a timely manner or according to code. In November 2021 we were contacted by our project manager and told that if we did not pay the second draw that they would pull off of our job completely. We paid another $30,000 at that time and there has been no one on site since that check was cashed. We have requested a refund repeatedly and have been denied. We have requested that workers come and complete the job, and have been made promises over and over and no one shows up. After paying a total of $90,000 to Banks Construction, and having no work completed as promised, we filed a complaint with the contractor licensing board. At this time there are approximately 60 families who have filed the same complaints and their stories parallel ours. Matt Banks will not return our phone calls or emails. He has not been on site on our job for more than six months. He refuses to refund our money. The work that he did perform was not according to code, and is going to have to be redone by another contractor at our cost.
