Solid Roofing Inc installed my new roof on July 15th, 2021 and I notified them on July 16th, 2021 that their roofer installed my new roof on top of rotted plywood, they used the wrong drip edge color, the roof flashings were loose, new front porch shingles were installed on top of the old metal roof. My brand new gutters were damaged beyond repair by their workers. In addition, the roofer cut the power to my air conditioner unit and I had to hire an electrician to repair it. Mike McArthur promised he would fix everything. Solid Roofing INC came back out to address the roof issues and sent in the Roofing Affidavit to Escambia County Building department. Escambia County passed *** roof on 9-8-21. On 9-15-21, water came into my home through the skylight and front roof area and sheetrock fell in. I called Solid Roofing and they sealed up the skylight, but refused responsibility to any other damage. They refused to tarp my roof. As water has continued to enter my home, I have mold growing in my electric closet and dining room walls. I have holes in the ceilings in the master bath and guest bedroom. Solid Roofing denied responsibility, so I hired a forensic roof engineer and they found the roof was not installed according to the manufacturers specs in addition to FBC. I sent a copy of the report to Solid Roofing and Brent ********* said he would have his own engineer come look at the roof the first week of January, yet no one has contacted me. I filed a complaint with the State of Florida after I discovered the affidavit sent into Escambia County Building department was forged. Brandon **** told me he never signed off on the affidavit and that he no longer had anything to do with Solid Roofing. Solid Roofing had their insurance company send an adjuster out to my house and I was told they were denying the claim because Solid Roofing subbed out the work to Rock Solid Roofing. Thus far my damages exceed $50k

      Business response

      03/29/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/01/31) */ Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. In short, we have not been paid for any portion of this project and the homeowner has continually rejected our offers to inspect and remedy any legitimate defect. We are actively working with Escambia County and the State of Florida licensing board to assist us through this process. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) On December 2nd, 2021, Solid Roofing INC was given legal notice of 558, of the Construction defects and were given 15 days to have the roof inspected. They failed to respond to the legal notice and their inspector never showed up the first week of January. Solid Roofing has had 5 months to send out their own inspector and they failed to do so. They are disputing the forensic roof report I hired to discover the roof failure. Brent ********* is not an engineer and was only given his roofing license on 12-3-2021. ********* is not qualified to question a forensic roof engineer. Solid roofing refused to address all of the issues listed in the 558 notice within the legal time allowed. I want all of the issues addressed and not just 3 of the problems. Solid Roofing has had 6 months to correct their mistakes and they have only given excuses. An example of Brent ********* being a liar, the contract clearly states payment is due when the work is completed. The roof is not complete and will not pass inspection. Solid Roofing has abandoned the job and now I am forced to file suit against them. I did everything right in my due diligence prior to hiring them. They advertise they have been doing roofing for over 40 years, but this too is a lie because ***** Literally just got his roofing license on 12-3-2021.
