After 32 yrs of maintaining my own turf grass, I chose to hire someone for that task. I hired Eddie Torino of El Toro to fertilize and control disease/ insects for my very nice St. Augustine lawn. Things went well for a few yrs until 2020 when I had chinch bugs consume a good portion of my west backyard. That eventually cleared up. This yr,, 2021 proved to be a telltale referendum of El Toro, I've now had approximately 1/3 of my eastern lawn turned into pure dirt after four return visits from El Toro. I've given that company more than enough atttempts to check the infestation yet I now have dirt/ mud instead of lawn covering about 1/3 of mt eastern back yard. My dog used to run without getting a single dirty paw, now she has dirty/muddy paws after her runs. I also have a clothesline where I once stood on lush St. Augustine to hang my laundry, now it's DIRT. I plan on demanding El Toro to re-sod the barren areas, refund me the fee I paid in full for the year and if El Toro fails to satisfy my demands, I will see then in small claims court. I'm not only disappointed but also angry that El Toro seems to intentionally neglect my concerns. I do believe that it's very possible that my political signs I display in my front yard may have contributed to a bias on El Toro's side and to laugh that possibility off is to deny the very sad race based/political atmosphere that OBVIOUSLY permeates this nation at this time. El Toro responded to my anger-based phone calls in a defensive manner which in itself is bad business. Instead of showing concern for the issue, Mr. Torino was defensive and unprofessional. Evidently El Toro can afford choosing to lose customers rather than making things right. Unprofessional and bad business on their end leaves me no choice but to give them a grade of F.
