I came to ***** on 01/13/23 for loose feeling and rattling. Estimate of recommended work was done. Car was worked on, my concern remained. Second opinion I got found that lower control arms and tie rods needed replacement. I was told the alignment at ***** on 01/13 should not have been done with the lower control arms and tie rods in the condition they were in. The work was done by this 2nd mechanic, I took my car back to ***** to have it re-aligned (it was under warranty) as recommended this shop. Monday, 3/27 I returned to ***** for a re-alignment. The mechanic elevated the car, told me he cant perform an alignment and asked me about the recent work I had done. I explained the loose feeling still, so I got a 2nd opinion, had the work done. He said the problem still existed because I probably chose to not get the recommended work done. I pulled out the ***** estimate and he verified that they in fact didnt recommend replacing the control arms and tie rods. He proceeded to say the tie rods were installed wrong and he cant do alignment. He wrote on paper what to say to the 2nd mechanic to fix the job before I can get the alignment. I asked him for the spect sheet, and he said, there is none, I couldnt do an alignment. 3/29 I took the car back to ******* and explained and showed the owner the mechanics note. ******* owner disagreed, hooked my car up to the alignment machine and aligned in less than a minute. ***** staff never attempted the realignment. I have spec sheets to prove the alignment was possible. I had to pay for it when I had a warranty at ***** and was refused without evidence, for the mechanic simply looked at the car and never made an attempt to hook it up to the machine or try the alignment.I wrote a formal letter addressed to the manager (attached) detailing this experience and asked to be refunded for the $99.99 I paid for the alignment and 3 months warranty and have received no response as of today.
