Re: FisherPanda Genset *****i#C03-26-116. Genset panel went dark. Unable to find rep in ** familiar with model I called PandaFL, & on their recommendation, purchased a new Icontrol2.5 and and Remote control panel + Icontrol3 Black for $1,280.26. Was told by tech (*****?) these were 'plug and play.' Items received with no installation instructions, nor that these units required programming. Wired up units properly on 7/31/23, genset showed a 150 (programming) error. Called Panda FL, spoke to ******, who then sent me INCORRECT instructions on how to program. (See email from ****** 8/1.) On 8/4/23, ****** sent revised (email attached) instructions which noted code 003 was incorrect - my *****i marine 240V machine needs code 31. Reprogrammed board with right code, Genset ready to run - but actuator arm was loose, genset wouldn't start. Got appointment with *******, a Panda dealer in MD. They repaired actuator arm, confirmed genset was wired/coded correctly, got the genset running, but inverter did not produce current. JGordon sent the $1280 in new materials along with my inverter to Panda FL for analysis. In December, Panda FL indicated my inverter needed major repairs, the icontol items I purchased from Panda in July tested functional, but were INCOMPATIBLE with my unit. Panda sold me another icontrol board for $608! Original items purchased in July were returned, in bag marked 'INCOMPATIBLE with customer unit.' Called ********************** asking they take back the INCOMPATIBLE icontol units (and tested working by them), purchased on their recommendation, for $1280, ****** refused, saying I had installed them, gotten a 150 error, even though they first provided no documentation, then codes incorrect, and then correct. FYI - I'm out $5k+, genset still inoperative. Net: Panda sold me INCOMPATIBLE parts, failed to provide instructions, then provided wrong instructions, then tested parts in question as functional but INCOMPATIBLE. I purchased a new boat in Jan 2020 that had a fisher Panda generator installed. I started to have issues with the generator after 80 hrs or so. I called the authorized repair person who came and said a computer was damaged. It was replaced under warranty. I did a recommended 100 hr inspections and maintenance service. At approx 170 hrs, the generator failed again. I called the same authorized repair company. They said that the water pump failed, salt water entered the generator and to repair was $7,000. I asked about warranty. They said FP would not cover it. I read the warranty and it has a 5 year warranty. I called the company, asked about it and again they denied my claim. The water pump with is a FP installed water pump failed and caused the damage. I don’t understand why they would deny the warranty claim. No proper explanation was given. They manufacturer of the boat reached out as well and was given the same resistance. I offered to accept the party’s and I would pay for the labor. Again, they refused to honor the warranty claim.
