First, we contacted Expo Van Lines for a move from IL to AZ. We discussed what I would be moving. I was given a quote of 7,000. Closer to the move date we did another call and went over every single box and piece of furniture to be moved. The quote was then doubled to 13,000. We were assured that this was because all of our furniture would be wrapped and packed safely. We agreed to 13,000. The moving company showed up 1 day early so things were hectic and when they demanded we pay 23,000, I immediately called Expo to question this. No one would take my call and we had no option but to pay them the extra 17,000. I continued to call expo but they would never answer my calls. When my furniture was delivered, I had furniture broken, tables with crushed legs, tvs with cracks and missing items. I have tried to initiate claims but the claims department says they don't recognize expo van lines or stop and move llc. We are seniors and this has been one of the worst experiences of our lives. We experienced extortion, long waits for our furniture and then disgust when we saw what they did to our belongings. I am going to speak to an attorney soon because this happened in August and I have heard nothing from anyone. Help!
