Coastal Waste and Recycling Customer # **** My name is *******************************, I've setup an autopay with the company so the company would charge my credit card on file for only my property *********************************************************. Instead they started charging me for all the invoices for Accent ******* Homes account. So far, they have charged me over $3,213.22 for the services that are not related to my property. I've tried to call, email, leave voicemails, but for about 3 months I was not able to get a hold of anyone. Finally ***************************** was able to remove me from autopay to prevent me from being automatically charged. I've been trying to get a refund from the company ever since, without any progress. It's been over 7 months since this incident, and no refund has been approved or given. I'm requesting a full refund of $3,213.22 plus an interest rate of 5% for the outstanding refund that has not been paid back since February 2023.

FRAUDULENT INVOICING PRACTICE! Switching to a new Accounting system as a result of merger/acquisition, and failing to transfer ALL of the customer information from the prior system to the new system (including customer preferences for paper vs. digital invoice) IS NOT an excuse to begin sending (and charging $5 per) paper invoices to customers who chose digital autopay as their option. It is the companys responsibility to understand customer preferences from the prior system and proactively address any issues that *** prevent those preferences being fulfilled in the new system processes. In this instance, the decision to switch systems creates a known requirement for all autopay customers to re-enter/authorize use of the credit card they have on file and ensure an up to date email address is also on file. The fact that Coastal failed to recognize their decision to switch to a new system would be an issue and provide customers with a way to ensure a smoother transition is a major customer service failure. The fact that they are telling customers that it is Corporate Policy to charge customers who opted out of paper invoices for for those same invoices that are now being sent due to the lack of customer information in the new system should be reviewed immediately and understood as FRAUDULENT PRACTICE. The technicality of a new system integration decision by a company does not erase the historically documented decision by a customer, and making a customer pay for a poorly executed integration they were not aware of is an act of fraud.
