Quote provided, $2500 to clear trees, bring to road for FEMA pickup and clear pepper bushes, remove stumps to permit sod Nov 18-with no notice, arrives at around 4, works until dark. We had guests. We paid in full, despite the fact we could not see what was done as it was dark. He tells my husband he broke a tooth on his machine, couldn't grind stumps.Nov 19-************ to contractor within 3 days (as per invoice) to indicate work not satisfactory. 3 stumps still there, 4-5 trees pushed back, not brought to road. One pine standing and was to remove all pines Nov 22-phone message left, text back, see you Tuesday Nov 29, he thought the job looked good, however I indicated it was not completed as promised by quote-no further communication Nov 30, Dec 5, email sent requesting discussion-no response. We have a quote clearly indicating what was to be done, we have pictures (more than what is sent) clearly indicating that the work was not done as promised. One cut tree shoved to behind neighbor. No communication.

I am rejecting this response because:

The first communication with ***** since Nov 24 was received Dec 9, ***** promised to have the job completed in the next 2 weeks.  I understand that he is busy, however the job is not completed we have paid in full.    We have 2 deadlines:  We have guests staying at our house starting Dec 24 and the intention when we signed the contract was to have the job completed well before Dec 1 and FEMA pickup in our neighborhood stops Dec 31.   Part of the contract was to have all trees taken out brought to curb so that FEMA could pick up.  The job has to be completed for us to accept the response.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/08/22) */ This response was taken verbally by BBB: The customer hired us to remove a coconut palm and grind the stump. The customer walked the job after we were done before paying us. Stump grinding service is to grind the stump to ground level, which is what we did. The customer is unhappy because there were some surface roots around the perimeter of the root ball which can extend 4 feet. Removal of the surface roots is not part of stump grinding or the job the customer paid for. The total job was $800 and the customer is demanding $250 for work that was not contracted for.
