On January 31, 2023, I signed a contract with Kirk M******, phone ************ and owner of Surface 2 Surface, to have my garage floor epoxy painted. Originally, he had requested 50% in cash for the project which I paid. The remainder, he said could be paid with a check or a couple of other electronic options after the job was done. The signed contract states that he will start on 2/6 and finish by 2/15/2023. Starting February 5, he texted me with problems getting supplies (floor etching materials), then helper problems, then vehicle starter problems and phone batteries. One excuse after another. He setup several guaranteed starting dates/times and never showed. Twice I had to ask visiting friends to end their stay. On February 7, he says product has arrived and needs to be pick it up. From then on, it's one excuse after another why he cannot come to do the job. On February 14, I provided him with 3 options: First, come start project and I would help him, second provide me with a refund and return supplies. Third, I said I would pay for the supplies, and I would do the job and he could refund me the rest. I asked for receipts twice, and he did not produce them. On February 16, I contacted the two Sherwin Williams stores in Daytona area and neither stocked epoxy flooring materials. They know of his company but no one from his company was in to purchase the products. I have offered to meet him in Daytona for the refund so that he wouldn't have to drive to Palm Coast. It goes on and on! The latest was his credit card was hacked and he had to go to the bank today. For more details, please read the attached texts between Kirk and me.
