I accepted a contract for a landscape concrete curbing company and scheduled them to come and install a dark brown concrete curb with a flagstone design around my landscape. The work was to be done on May 6th, 2023. The owner called the morning of and said that they were not coming because 2 guys never showed up for work. I patiently said ok and rescheduled for May 20th. On May 20th the guys show up and do about a quarter of the job and then quit for the day, going home before finishing. They complained that they were hot. I called the owner complaining and he assured me that they would be back out the following Thursday to finish the job. Meanwhile, the small portion they did was uneven, the lines were wavy and the color turned gray/white not brown. The following Thursday came and the owner called saying they were not coming because the guys quit the night before. I complained and begged for him to please finish and that my HOA was on my case about how terrible things looked. He stated that he would have to hire some more guys. After begging for several days, he put a crew together to come and finish the job on May 25th.the day that called for rainso of coursethe 25th comes and he says they are not coming because they dont want to take a chancewell it hardly rained all day. They finally come out the next day the 26th and the 27th to complete the work. They tore out the bad job done before and started over. Upon first look, the concrete was wet and looked rich in color, so I paid them. The next day I woke up and the concrete had turned blotchy and white/gray in many spots, just as it did before. There were also lots of excess concrete everywhere and sealant /dye sprayed on my driveway. I was upset and called him. He came out a sprayed more sealant on it, telling me that it would solve the issue, but it didnt. Each passing day, revealed worse and worse appearance. I texted him asking for help or a way to get the sealant off, so I could at least stain it the correct color and he ignored my contact. I texted a few days later and he ignored that one as well. Im am looking for a refund of my ***** that I paid.Business response

On the backside of her yellow copy of the estimate is our Terms And Conditions. It states, Curb Appeal is Not responsible for any variations in color from color chart over time. Her color is a dark brown which makes the curing process more noticeable than other colors. The solution in her case is to understand our Terms and Conditions, and stain her curbing to her desired color and consistency.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:I cannot stain the concrete my desired color because he put several coats of sealant on it that prevents the stain from permeating the concrete. I asked the owner to help me to remove/dissolve the sealant, so that I could stain it myself and he ignored my 2 attempts/requests. Furthermore, I paid him almost **** dollars for new curbing! I shouldnt have to stain or paint it!!!!!

Our sealer is solvent based. Therefore, Get a solvent based ( not water based) concrete stain from ********** or Lowes and the stain will adhere to the curbing perfectly. I believe thats what your neighbor did.Customer response

I shouldnt have to stain or paint it! I paid the company to make it look nice and do the work. They did not do a good job or make it look nice.
