I began my membership with ** in ****** last year. I recently came to ******* for a work opportunity. During my stay I went to the ** in PSL a few times since my membership allows nationwide access. The gym was ****** crowded and a further from me than I would have liked. I looked over my gym contract and it states If during the original term of this contract you relocate more than a 15 mile radius from the ***** you may cancel this contract by providing a 30-day written notice, proof of relocation, and a $50 early cancellation fee. My contract was created in ******, and has not been changed, so I reached out to ********* to cancel my membership. They informed me that since I have been using the club in *********** my membership had been transferred there. I sent a letter to the ** in PSL requesting a cancellation of my membership that follows the requirements in my agreement. I have not heard back from them. I reached out to the *** financial services (of which ** uses for membership billing) to see if I could get answers. The person I spoke to didnt speak English, didnt understand what I was asking, and had me going in circles with my requests. I am moving back to ****** and I am now bound to a gym in a State that I will no longer be living in. Basically from what I understand is that I was transferred to a gym outside of the State I made my contract agreement with but have to stick to the original agreement? It doesnt make sense. The transfer of my membership to another State fulfills the requirements to cancel my membership as per the policy. Therefor, I should no longer be bound to my contract agreement. I want out of this whole situation. Anytime fitness is a shady business and wont allow me to end my contract even though I have followed the cancelation procedure. It seems like all they care about is money, and not the fact that I am paying for a gym I no longer live anywhere near.Business response

She moved to Port St Lucie around January and used the gym multiple times over the next 60 days. Her original agreement states that consistent use of another gym over a 60 day period will facilitate an automatic transfer to the new gym. Thus her membership transferred to Port St Lucie. She now claims that she has moved back to ******. Fine. She can use the local gym there and after 60 days she will be transferred back.
