      We used this company for a refrigerator repair and thought they were prompt and courteous. Then our dryer kept having a code come up and the manual said call for repair. The technician came out on June 17, 2024. He said he had to order a part and he requested payment in full. He kept insisting that we pay in cash. The technician, ************************* kept asking for cash then asked my husband make the check out directly to him for $269.00. He took it immediately to the bank and cashed it. He told us he would be back out Friday, 6/21 to put part in. We called several time throughout that Friday and never heard back. We called again and reached the office on 6/24. The person who answered the phone had never heard of us. He transfers us to ******* who says h*** be out 6/28. Once again he is a no show. I call again and get some guy who doesnt know who I am and transfers me to *******. This time ******* is beyond rude but says he will be there 6/3. Someone from the office calls me about 4pm and says ******* had an accident and they will have a tech there on 6/5. Once again no show. Today, ******* was again very rude and he continues to just hang up on me but he said he would be out after 2 today 6/8. Once again a no show. All kinds of excuses have been given; Mondays are slammed, cant talk my hands are full, etc. We feel we have been as patient as we can be. I want my $269.00 back and I want a ******************* on their business for rude behavior and lack of any kind of follow through. Thank you for your time

      set up multiple appointments. This customer does not answer his phone.. this customer also called the police and weve been in contact with the police. The technician will call this customer in the morning to set up another time to come out. We do not show up at the customers house unannounced .

      On 12/27/2023 my Elderly mother fell victim to the same issue that others who have file complaints on this site against A & j appliance have experienced. My mother paid for a part to fix her ice maker (upfront) in the amount of $240. They have claimed to have received the ordered part in January and have made at least 3 appointments to install the part and they have never shown up or called to say they cant make it. i have called this company on several occasions, i have even called ******* cell *************) and contacted A and J appliance directly and they continue to say I will call you in 20 minutes but have never returned a call to date (2/13/2024). This is bordering on elder abuse and someone needs to investigate this company for fraud since they seem to have a history of taking money from the elderly for services not rendered.

      I orignally contacted A & J Appliance Service on 12/10/23 regarding a repair needed on our refrigerator. I spoke with ******* and he made an appointment to come to our home on 12/11/23, I contacted him late in the afternoon of 12/11/23 as he did not show up at the scheduled time. He made another appointment for 12/13/23, at which time he did come to our home. He advised us that he would order a part that would take 5-7 days to arrive. He said the total charge for the part and labor was $389.00. He requested a $300 deposit in cash, which he gave him. He gave us a receipt indicating a balance due of $89 upon completion. (Invoice #****)Prior to the Christmas holiday, ******* made 3 appointments to install the new part, but never showed up. Each time I contacted him, he made excuses of a broken down truck, or having to take his daughter (twice) to see ***********. So there were three missed appointments.After the Christmas holiday, we made numerous attempts to contact the business but were not able to get any response at all. We finally spoke again around January 2nd when ******* said they had been away during the holidays for approximately 3 weeks. The last verbal contact with ******* was on 01/09/24 when he agreed to refund our deposit in full. ******* promised to send a check immediately which has not been received. He responded in a text recently that he has been ill, which is just one more excuse. We have offered to drive to their place of business to pick up our deposit, but again have received no response.We would appreciate any help you can give us to get our deposit of $300 returned as we feel this company is unprofessional and dishonest.

      A&J Received The parts and still has the parts. We tried to schedule a time but the customer insisted A&J come early on a Saturday which wasnt going to work due to prior scheduling arrangements. A&J tried to reschedule multiple times for the following Monday after the Saturday we werent able to come.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The response by A & J Appliance Service is completely false.  We have tried on many occasions to schedule a time for the repair, however, in all cases ******* has not shown up. When we contacted him about the missed appointments, we were met with multiple excuses each time.  We are retired and were willing to accommodate his schedule, but each time he was a "no show".  We have been more than patient, even after requesting a refund due to their inability to keep scheduled appointments.  We requested a refund of our $300, which he agreed to mail to us since he could not be bothered to drop off a check.  A & J Appliance Service has had our $300 deposit since December 13,2023, which we gave in good faith.  To date, they have made NO attempt to refund the deposit as promised. We respectfully request an immediate refund of our $300 deposit.

      I am an elderly woman who lives alone and called A and J Appliance Repair to fix my refrigerator that was not cooling properly on Jan 6th. The technician came to my house on the 8th and told me the fan needed to be replaced. He had me write a check payable to his personal name, not the company, for the service call and parts and repairs all up front. He asked for cash but I wrote a check...reluctantly. The week went by. I tried to call several times but the voice mailbox would fill up and couldn't leave a message. My son finally was able to call and leave a message that Friday the 12th and said he needed repairs as well which finally prompted the technician to call him back. The tech said the fan part would be delivered by the 15th or 16th. By the 18th I was able to reach him and he said he was picking up the part that night and would call me back on that Friday the 19th to schedule the repair. His voice mailbox has been full since that Friday and through today, the 22nd and he doesn't answer phone calls or receive texts. I am an elderly woman living alone with no refrigerator going on the third week now. I will never use this company again. I should have checked to see all the other complaints against him previously. I hope this ****** anyone else from using this company.

      The tech has continued to tell me he will come back - ************* 1/23, then wednesday 1/24 then he said friday 1/26 and then again said monday 1/29.  He has NOT showed up.  He took my check for $405 check #**** of which I have a receipt to prove.  He has not completed this job we hired him to do on 1/8/24 and took my money.  At this time, I have not had a working refrigerator for almost a month.  I was my money returned to me for work not completed.

      Today is February 7th.  This repair man has continued to make fake appointments every two or three times a week since the initial visit on January 8th.  It has been a month and the refrigerator has NOT been repaired.  He keeps making fake excuses that the technician was sick or couldn't get access or got busy.  This has happened now for a MONTH!  ************ doesn't even have a legitimate store front.  All three addresses on their website are PO Boxes.  EVERYONE needs to know that this company is a scam and has no stolen $405 from us.  I have their receipt with my check number confirming they took my check for $405 and I have the cancelled check to prove they cashed it all.

      on 11/21/2023 we hire A & J Appliance Repair to service our clothes dryer.they required a $270 deposit before they could order the parts we paid the deposit in cash and said they would call when the parts arrived.NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN.called repeatedly, leaving a voice message , but never got a call back.they emailed once that they were coming, waited all day, never showed NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN this went on for months, it is now Jan 5th ****.

      On August 12th, 2023, *************************, the A&J Appliance Repair owner's son, diagnosed the reason for the non-functioning icemaker in my ** refrigerator at my ************** (****************) home and said that it would cost $266 for a new part to repair it. Because I was leaving for NY before the repair could be made and not returning until November, he advised me to pay for the part (which he said had a potential out-of-stock issue) so that he could install it as soon as I returned. He also gave me his personal cell number so that I could reach him directly. Since returning in November, I have texted and phoned him multiple times, as well as left messages with the main A&J number multiple times. Aside from two apologies from ******* for not getting back to me, I heard nothing about when I could expect my repair to take place. When I checked the BBB website, I found that there were other people who experienced the same problem of pre-paying A&J for a part and A&J subsequently not doing the installation. When I called the main A&J number again earlier today, the outgoing message no longer mentioned the A&J name and I couldn't leave a message because the mailbox was full.

      ************************* came to my house to repair my washer. He told me it was the struts and he had to order them. He wanted cash and I had gone to the bank the night before to get cash. He had told me that the repair would cost somewhere between $150.00-$200.00.I gave him $220.00 even though the price he quoted was $219.00.He has never returned. I had a few texts from him and one phone call telling me he would call at 1sh the next day and never did.He told me that he was in business with his father who no longer works for the company.I then started to go on line to find out more about A&J Appliance Repair and found so many other complaints just like mine.I am 87 years old and on a fixed income.I dont know if ******* is misrepresenting the company or if he actually works for them.Its a terrible feeling to be lied to and lose money as well.I have a feeling he might have a drug problem because he was very hyper and at times used some foul language. The truck was rather beat up and when he came into the garage where my washer is, he never had a tool with him. It was like he never had any intention of repairing it.I would appreciate anything you can do for me.Thank you

      I have done some research about this company and apparently I am not the only one that has been scammed by **************************

      Every story that I have read is the exact same thing that happened to me.

      I was a fool to give him $220.00 in cash.

      I have enclosed a PDF of the invoice that shows that I gave him Cash.

      I wish to retract my statement that ******* might have a drug problem.

      That was a true statement. I had no valid reason to say that.

      Since this problem all began, ******* has made a very conscientious effort to repair my washer.

      He finally did come late this afternoon after saying he would be here at 2:00 Pm. However he was always in touch about his arrival time.

      I think that the problem was finally solved. I will know better when I have the time to do a load of wash.

      He did tell me that if there is still a problem, I should let him know.

      I want to thank the BBB for their help.

      It meant a lot to me.

      I had Technician ******* out to my home to repair my ** refrigerator. He informed me the business was his and his fathers. I was told to unplug the fridge and defrost it for 12hrs and charged a $90.00 service call fee which I was told would come off the price of service if defrosting it did not work. ******* gave me his cell phone number and said if it didn't work to contact him directly. It did not works and he told me to defrost it again. After doing so he told me he would order a new filter housing but needed money up front. Reluctantly, I agreed but he could not make it to me to pick up the money on two separate occasions. He texted me and said he ordered the part anyway but he will not rerun any of my texts or calls to date. Upon calling another company to repair my fridge I discovered that A&J are well know for doing this all over the area. The other company even knew the technician by name. ********* cell number is ************ and the business number is ************.       This customer was charged $8995, which was explained to him upfront and on the phone  It was explained to the customer it would take 2 to 4 business days A&J Service told the customer to defrost the unit and if it doesnt work, will order the part. Pretty plain and simple. He also continue to badmouth us and write bad reviews on social media, which I am taking further actions for.  Its funny how some customers do not be completely truthful about the situation.

      This customer was only charged $89.95 for the ********************** call we went out there he had an aftermarket filter we told him to go on Amazon and buy the factory filter. I have a text messages on August 23 and it says it works great. Thank you. he sent us another text on September 13 which states the water dispenser works great For three weeks .However, its back to not working at all. The technician stated that he would need the filter housing assembly. Gave him a price. This customer is not being completely truthful and honest.

      A&J is not being honest. I tried ******** phone numerous times which is documented and left him voicemail. He never returned my messages or texts. Again, this is all documented. He stole the service call fee which was supposed to go towards the price of yhe housing.  He simply NEVER returned my calls forcing me to go with another more reputable vompany to get it repaired. After reading online reviews it appears that ******* has made a lot of money doing this type of scamm all over the treasure coast.

      Once again, this customer is lying, and if he keeps slandering, A&J or ******* on social media, we will be taking legal action. This customer was charged $89.95 for the ********************** call. it was explain to **** that he had an aftermarket filter. My calls and emails were never returned and they skated off with the service call fee. There are many reviews online stating the same thing from other former customers.       My first contact with A&J was on 9/5 which I called for an issue with our refrigerators ice maker. ******* showed up and found he needed to order the main board which would take 3- 4 days to get it in. Full payment was required at that time $586.00, which cash was the preferred payment. I declined to pay cash and was told that using a card would result in an additional fee that would range from 5- whatever the rate is that day. ******* eventually would accept a check, but only if it was made out directly to him. Which was done. He stated that this would avoid paying tax and if I gave him a ******* review on ******* The check was cashed the next day. The repair has yet to be completed, multiple phone calls and texts were sent with little to no response. Multiple no show appointments have occurred with no call, no show. I would like my money returned at this point as we are now going on a month since their first visit.

      Both boards were installed. You asked ******* to come out and fill the *** SERGE PROTECTION SO THAT THEY CAN Reimburse you due to power ***** causing issue. You still have both A&J parts installed in the WORKING REFRIGERATOR and asked ******* to come and fill out the *** paperwork for you to get reimbursed through them?

      After multiple broken appointments,  ******* did come out and install the two boards, which did not fix the issue. ******* stated that it might now be the door switch and he would have to order it and be back in 3-4 days. He stated there would be no charge as he would apply the $100.00 credit that the owner(****,  his father) stated he would refund us for the long delay in getting this repaired.  When ******* was supposed to return to install the door switch he was to fill out the paperwork for ***. ******* never returned. When I called to find out where he was as he set a promised ill be there at 10am Monday, and was told by **** that he is not sending ******* out until I revise my review left on ******* I stated to him that I would consider this after the repair was completed which **** stated he would have to schedule another appointment, which I informed him that we have had multiple appointments and why cannot it be completed today as an appointment was already scheduled for 10-10:30? **** refused and stated he doesn't work for me, and it will be done on his schedule.  The discussion then turned ugly with **** using vulgar language and criticism about us being babies because we didn't have water ( which was not even the issue) I stated to **** that we want our money back or the repair completed today and hung up to avoid further abuse by him. **** called back and asked what I wanted  I repeated, fix it today or return our money  he stated that he will refund our money within a few day by mail... he also several time asked, so who should I make the check out to.. *************#, amongst other comments.       I am rejecting this response because:

      The issue was not caused by a power surge or other electrical malfunction and the replacement of the power boards were not necessary as they were not damaged.The issue was a connection at the bottom of the freezer door which was repaired by another vendor which I had to pay to finally have the repair properly done.  I expect a refund in full as stated by the owner during our last phone conversation. I have served the vendor notice by registered mail (which was accepted and signed for) that I will be proceeding to small claims court if the refund was not received by the 14th of this month. Which it was not.
