Ive gotten so ripped off from this company. First time ******* came ( who is still working there) and never did mtnce. The field mgrcame and confirmed it was never done. He did it himself. Then a few moths later another ***** came for mtnce. Told me I need A fan motor. And a hot water heater ci never needed a hot water heater. ***** said it was leaking. It was my mop that was wet in the closet. Also they talked me into a two year mtnce contract. I called a week ago since I had an issue. ***** once again told me I needed a$2250 part. I told him I gave them thousands and cant do it. Cant he add Freon. He said it would cost more thancthe$2250. I said no. In short, another recommended company came and did full mtnce and added Freon for $245. I dont want anyone else to go thru this nightmare. Im elderly and got so taken. All I want is my money back for the prepaid,mtnce service I paid for. A few hundred dollars. They will not call me back after 4 calls so I decided to post this review to start. Ive used Amtek out of ************* since we bought the house 10 years ago. they kept telling me I needed a new ac. finally, 3 yrs ago, I bought one from them. Ive had nothing but trouble . I had them out over and over and over because it would quit working. A yr into the warranty, a part quit and I had to pay $600+ for the part. they said it was probably a power surge, so it wasnt covered. I kept buying the $300.+ service agreement. one time they came out 3 times in one day because it would quit after they left. my service agreement ran out in May. now, my ac quit again. when I called to get someone out, they told me they wouldnt send anyone out. they were only servicing the people with a service agreement now. DO NOT USE AMTEK. they get you to spend a fortune with them and then wont service the unit. worse ac company out there.!!!!!Review from Nancy R

Added vinegar so problem was fixed before he arrived. HE REPLACED KICK STARTER AND SOLAR BULB AND CHARGED FOR 2 YEAR MAINTENANCE PLAN $1336.00. All done in 20 minutes. I wrote the check and he left before I realized they do not give you a receipt. I have no proof I bought the maintenance plan for how long and how much it cost or list of parts I bought or the cost. I called and asked for a receipt and they said someone would get back to me which never happened.Amtek Air Conditioning, Inc. Response

I inherited Amtek when I purchased this house the start of 2019. I didn't have to keep the contract with them as I was going to use the same company I had for over 25 years at my home in The Acreage. I had to replace the unit here, so I decided to try Amtek. Super nice in-office as are the service techs that come to the house. With one of the lightning storms recently my main unit outside was struct and here we are in extreme heat, they made sure the next day after repairs, I was up and running again. I more than appreciate their honesty and I will continue using them as long as I own this home!Review from Miluzka C

In September 2022 Amtek sold me a bad mini split for my garage which was nothing but problems since the very first weeks we bought it, after realizing we were not going to buy any more products from them wish we were gonna ( a central A/C unit ) but because of the terrible experience we had with the mini split we decided not to buy anything more they decided to cancel our one year store guarantee without notice just because they realized we did buy the central A/ C unit from another Company because we were not happy with the 6K mini split from AmtekReview from Mark S

Honest, timely, and friendly service from a company that truly looks out for their customers. They have only recommended top products to me, like A/C units from companies like ***************** and Trane. I wouldn't call any one else for my air-conditioning needs.Review from Marie J

On 03/07/2023, ***** send their Technician to service the AC unit based on yearly subscription purchased from them. Previously, They'd come and after they left or a day or two the AC stop working properly but the last time it happened we called a different company who confirmed there's no leak but it appeared that the FREON has been let out and again on March 7th. ******* *. ***** technician come to service the unit, the AC was blowing cold air just fine before serviced, shortly after, the AC was not cooling. The house was so hot, my nice went to the hospital, I spent the weekend calling ***** for my mother, they came on Monday the 13th. Here's his statement.., Upon arrival found unit not coil. Checked pressures and found pressures at -17/-14. "Unit is completely out of refrigerant. Checked air handler evap coil being that it’s an RHLL unit and found coil is heavily rotted. Pumped drain line and found oil in drain line. Customers unit is almost 10 years old. Factory warranty will expire in 2months. Unit is also heavy compacted with black mold. Customer declined all repairs for the 3rd time." Claiming that there was a leak. We called a different Technician, who verified there were no leaks. In fact, he vacuumed out the fresh oil (FREON) They purposely let out, He felt so bad, he only charge us what it cost him. ******* statement, the guy who came to do service. "Unit needs to be replaced it is heavily infested with bacteria. Pressures are high on the low side causing over condensation unit is not performing properly. Customer is aware but cannot afford to do anything." Dishonest, BE CAREFUL WITH THOSE PEOPLE. Notice he said, "Unit needs to be replaced." It's working fine.Amtek Air Conditioning, Inc. Response

We apologize that you were not happy with our services provided to you. I assure you that our technicians do not intentionally let Freon out of our clients units. If we went around doing that we would have ALOT more negative reviews such as yours i assure you. As you stated in your review the technician from the other company said "he vacuumed out the oil/Freon they purposely let out" Freon ports are outside at the condenser/ac unit, this is were Freon pressures are monitored or "Let out" and have absolutely no correlation with your drain line connected to the inside air handler where oil accumulates due to Freon leakage. So this confirms that there was oil in your condensation line in witch we have been advising you for about 3 years now. Oil gathers in a condensation line/drain line due to an active Freon leak in the evaporator coil in your inside air handler because Freon has oil mixed in it to lubricate the OUTSIDE compressor at the condenser/ac unit. So unfortunately now your unit is out of warranty so its to late to get this issue resolved under a warranty claim as we suggested to you several times in the past. If you have any other questions contact our office and i would be glad to assist you. Thanks

I utilized Amtek to install my air conditioner, outdoor fan/light and replace all ducts in the home. In all cases, the crew did a great job, timely, neat and very friendly. I plan to have them do some electrical work in the very near future. They will be my go to for any plumbing or electrical work.Review from Kerrie R
