Date of transaction, 09/15/2022. Started work 09/23/2022 five days before hurricane ***, finishing on 09/26/2022 never giving time for proper roof adhesion. According to many other roofers, job shouldn't of been started with forecast of hurricane on 09/28/2022. Old roof did not leak as new roof did. Never installed flashing where house roof connects to sunroom causing major leak into sunroom. Insurance adjuster pointed this out as well as other licensed roofers. This caused $6000.00 personal property damage and sever mold problem which became a major concern as my wife is fighting leukemia and has very low immune system.Deposit: $******* with $ ******* upon satisfactory roof installation including using GAF shingles with 30 year guarantee, should of used cap shingles, not three tab shingles for cap, certificate of completion, which was never applied for. I need this for insurance company and also needed for future sale of house. Company guaranteed 10 year workmanship which they did not hold up to. Roofing tar and boot marks all over shingles and shingles not in straight lines. Did not seal dryer vent that goes through roof, which leaked causing mold in attic and sheetrock damage. Very poor, shabby roofing job.**** of Castle Rock Roofing did not try to rectify any of the problem's. All he did is threaten me with a lien on my house, that he would not pay supply house for materials used on my house so that they would also put lien on house. I have no problem paying them as materials were used and not there fault for terrible roofing.After telling **** to go ahead and put lien on house, he said he felt sorry for me and offered to reduce remaining balance by $2000.00 but not to go to office to pay but pay him in cash. Not how you do business.Also Rock Castle Roofing advertises BBB rating but from what I could find out from your web site they are not BBB accredited, and if true false advertising.Business response

Nothing has been done by Rock Castle Roofing to rectify this situation, except they added a $ 1174.50 LATE FEE for not paying the bill.
Rock Castle roofing set up the time to have roof done which we were surprised because we thought it would be weeks before they got to it. I was worried about the roof being done right before the hurricane but was told by **** it wouldn't be a problem because of how good his work was and warranty of workmanship and shingle warranty. They realized how bad the storm was coming and asked if they could work that Saturday to try to get it done in time as roof was partially stripped.
The original roof never leaked, the new one did, including ridge shingles coming off because the sun never got to bake them on.
My neighbor's roofs, one being less than 2 month's old, the other being a year old or so received no damage with the same wind and rain.
They lied to you about **** wanting to take $2000.00 dollars of the bill as I have a witness to this conversation. taking the deduction of money wouldn't of done us any good as we would not received Certificate of Completion which you need for insurance company, nor did he apply for one.
Poor workmanship lead to my sunroom leaking which caused over $5000.00 personal property damage, mold damage, we couldn't live in our home for over 2 weeks, and I fronted $16,000.00 dollars of our own money to get mold taken care of so we wouldn't be out of home for month's. My insurance company did reimburse me it except $500 dollar credit card fee's.
Of course I thought the roof was a good job, looking at it from the ground as I hate heights. When insurance adjuster came to look at roof he asked me to get on roof to look at how shoddy a job it was and why water leaked into sunroom as they should of used flashing where house roof meets sunroom roof. Water leaked in around vent pipes that weren't properly addressed causing paint, mold and sheetrock damage. ***************** is paying to have a new roof put on because of the shoddy workmanship which lead to more damage then there should have been due to hurricane.
I paid half the money up front, $6,525.00 cash and had all intentions of paying the remainder until my roof started flying off and the water pouring into my home.
If the roof had been fixed to right standards and hip shingles replaced, which I was they used 3 tab cut shingles by two other roofer's I would of paid remaining balance. Instead Rock Castle Roofing wanted to charge me another $5000.00 plus dollars to fix the roof. Almost half of new roof to begin with.
