I'm a single mother looking for a good price to replace all the duct work under my trailer. I was referred to Alvis air. He came out and quoted me a price $400 cheaper than Acree air, total of $800...so I went with him being I didn't have alot of money. 3 weeks after he installed the new duct work, my air quit working again. He came out and said I needed a new compressor. (My a/c unit is only 3 years old. ) Weeks later I paid him another $300 to put that in. He assured me it would work fine. It did not. I called him back. This time he took his time coming to look. A week or so later he finally showed up and said it was an evaporator coil. He said he ordered the part and it wouldn't be here until September. It was July 3rd. It was so hot in my house my children and I couldn't breathe. I had to purchase a window unit to cool one room while we wait. Today I found the original paperwork from the guy who installed my air unit 3 years ago. He came out immediately and found out within 30 mins what the problem was. He said my ductwork had collapsed. He cut out the part collapsed to show me and is replacing it in the am. He informed me I will need to replace all of it soon, as it was the cheapest stuff on the shelves. He also said whoever was working on it overloaded the freeon and it was going to blow the motor. We have been without air during the 2 hottest months in Florida. This man took our money and I believe he would of continued to take it. One piece at a time. He won't answer the phone to communicate. He is a fraud. He took from a single mom and her children and wished us luck.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/25) */ I offered to replace the damaged duct. I purchased the ductwork available as there is a shortage. The ductwork collapsed and not due to quality or cost. She had multiple companies tell her that ductwork was not available. I gave her a good price and went out of my way to find ductwork. She refuses my solution and that is her right. No refund will be issued. She is very confrontational and I will not go to the property. He only offered to replace the collapsed air duct after I called a different company out to come look at it. He was out two times after my air quit working and didn't know what was wrong with my air. In addition I paid for a new compressor and a window unit while he was unsure what was wrong. The collapsed duct was absolutely because of the quality. After waiting two months for air, I called someone else who fixed my collapsed duct with new duct work and leveled out my freeon, which he overloaded to blow my motor. 24 hours later my a/c was working perfectly. I told him not to come back to my house as I don't trust him and I don't want him to touch anything. I don't expect him to refund anything. I'm sure he don't have it.
