Freedom Appliances came to repair my refrigerator handle. They never informed me that I would be charged, yet I received a bill. The refrigerator is poorly made, and the handle started breaking off piece by piece, which I have NEVER seen happen before. The technician took 5 minutes to fix it and left. He never said that there would be a charge, so I assumed it was under warranty. I was told that the refrigerator was brand new when I moved in.

      01/21/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/27) */ This customer has a property management company that sent us out to complete the repair. We can't control how the property management company conducts there business. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/12/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I have a bill from Freedom Appliance that I was not told I would be getting. The bill has Freedom Appliances name in it, but it was not given to me by the repair tech, nor was I informed that there could possibly be a charge for the repair. This is an unfair billing practice. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/01/03) */ We never sent the invoice to the tenant. We received a work request, had the job approved by the property management company and completed the job and sent the invoice to the property management company. Once the invoice is sent to the property management company, we don't have any control over if they charge the tenant or pay the bill themselves. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/01/04) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Please provide a copy of the invoice. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2022/01/07) */ *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2022/01/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I need a response to the photos I sent. The photos prove that there is no way the damage was user error. No one opens a refrigerator from the base of the handle. There was no damage to the top of the handle that is used to open the door. The base of the handle broke off in pieces. I have those pieces if you need pictures. Please eliminate the bill. Business Response /* (4000, 18, 2022/01/11) */ Freedom Appliance is not affiliated with the appliance manufacturer. We were called by the property management company to fix the handle and we must invoice to be compensated for the work and parts provided. If this is believed to be a manufacturer's defect that must be brought to that manufacturer. Any disputes on the cost of the work provided should be brought to the property management company as they are the ones who requested the repair. Thank you.
