They gouged me. I got charged nearly $200 for about 10 minutes of work, using my own wire and materials and all the prep work already done by me. They're pricing structure for the other things they tried to sell me was outlandish. Why? Because the electricians work on commission and vonuses. If you're having an absolute emergency and can't reach anyone else, the work they did was fine. Nothing special, but fine. Otherwise, fine someone better like ***********Review from Raymond D

Called Mac5 and they were at the house within a few hours. ( that's the only plus)I had a blockage in the sewer line. The toilet and vanity sink in the bathroom wouldn't drain.Tech removed toilet and fed the snake about 4' down the drain. He had found a blockage and moved the snake back and forth. He seemed to have broken thru the blockage. About a foot or two farther and hit a blockage again. I asked if he thought he might have just pushed the blockage down farther. He said he wasn't sure and went to his van for a detector. It looked like a metal detector but had a monitor that showed the drain pipe. Running the detector across the tile floor, he came to location and said here is your problem. Told me they would have to demo the tile and concrete from toilet to that location. It was about 6' from toilet to blockage. He quoted me a price and left.I called another company to come and to see what they would say. I didn't tell them Mac5 had been here the day before. Tech put a power snake down the drain. (Mac5 didn't use a power snake).Tech got to the blockage and worked the snake until he got thru. Tech ran the snake all the way to the septic tank. At that time I told him what Mac5 said the problem was. Also told him what Mac5 was going to do to fix.The Tech got a camera that went down the drain. He showed me on the monitor. That the drain line was clear. There was no damage to the drain line and really inspected the area where I was told there was damage. Called Mac5 and left a message. **************** called me back and I discussed the situation and possibly getting some of my money back. The best they would do was give me a free service charge. If I need their services in the future. Tech and persons on the phone were nice and courtesy. Just the outcome was lousy.Review from Stephen H

Had them come out and fix our electricity. They fixed our outlets, replaced our old circuit panel, and much more. Spent 11,000+ only to have our power out for 6 days, they tried to send someone out who did not have anything to donwith the job, and said it was not his problem. He was going to charge us 5 grand or more to fix something the last electricians openly said they missed to my girlfriend during our estimate, and didnt fix it then. So they are charging us now 3 grand for a huge mistake they made, leaving our newborn without power, and our blind autistic child who needs very expensive medicine to keep refrigerated. I missed two days of work too, because my manager was concerned about my sleep, I missed alot and with the stress and pain they caused my family, I can't let this go. 0 stars from me honestly, managers didn't care either. Tried a discount on us.Review from Kelly R

I had a 3 day re-pipe take 2 weeks. The workers ruined the ceiling and walls of one of my bedrooms. I contacted a company I trust to fix the bedroom and since I contracted with them I paid them. The owner of Max 5, Steve, is claiming he can't give me a credit for the repairs since it will hurt his revenue total. So according to him I owe $1,222 but I actually I only owe $407.50. BELIEVE IT OR NOT - the owner of Max 5, Steve, is going to levy my house for his incorrect total of $1,222Review from Cathy B

On a repipe Max 5 errors 1 - ruined a freshLy painted bedroom with a water leak they caused 2 - installed a shower faucet upside down 3 - installed a sink faucet which leaked after installation 4 - permit failed 5 - kitchen sink leaked after permit fix was done Our pipes burst on 7/31. A plumber from Max 5 came that night and we signed an agreement to have the whole house repiped. The workmen came the next day,Tuesday 8/1, although we were promised water Tuesday, we got cold water on Wednesday 8/2. Wednesday they destroyed a freshly painted bedroom by causing a water leak in the ceiling. On Thursday 8/3, they supposedly finished. Thursday they were called back to fix a sink faucet they installed that leaked. Max 5 didn't put in the permit untill Saturday 8/5 after I called the office asking about a permit. On Monday 8/7 of the following week they finally filed for the permit. Tuesday 8/8 they were called back because a shower faucet they installed was upside down. Thursday 8/10 they came back to fix the permit failures. On Saturday 8/12 they are scheduled to come back to fix a leak caused by the permit fixReview from Sam H

Mac5 did a repipe of our house, we ended up getting a new water heater and new toilets as well because this company was reccomended to me by a family member & I thought they were a good company. The gentleman who came to give us the quote was nice but told us the job would take 2 days. When the actual workers came by to start the job they told me 4-5 days. With 2 people living in the house working 9-5 monday to friday jobs (and this being disclosed to Mac5 several times) It was very upsetting but I decided to brush it under the rug. Fast forward to the job being done, the workers were very messy and even cracked a tile in our bathroom when installing one of the toilets. When I asked them about it the gentleman told me to get a rug to cover the cracked tile. The toilets we were provided we were charged $1,000 EACH for, total of $3,000 for toilets, come to find out they're "water saver toilets" which we did not ask for nor was this disclosed to us until we called a technician out to our house a week after the job to fix the toilets because the water level was very low & then the technician tried to charge us $120 for the 'service call'. When asked about the toilet prices I was given some ** answer about how theyre 'high quality toilets' and are 'right from the warehouse' when i found the same exact toilets on *********** ***** for $150-$200. Every single time they have provided a time frame of arrival they've been late with no update & one time did not even show up to our house and once again provided no update. I would never reccomend this company to anyone, they overcharge & are sloppy. When it came time for the inspection we passed, but the inspector even said they did a sloppy job and they cut a lot of extra holes in our house than required. It is quite embarassing when the inspector could tell me a better way they could have repiped that would've cost us less holes in our house we are now stuck patching up because we want nothing to do with this company at allReview from Edward W

Called for simple electrical service to change an electrical breaker. 15 minute job. Was told service charge was $40. Technician arrived and stated he did not have the breaker required. I asked if this part was a standard, normal electrical part. He said yes, but he had used all his on a previous job. He said he could return the following morning. I asked what the simple job would cost and he answered $500. I asked if he was kidding. He said no, but I would get a discount being a veteran…around $440. I told him to not bother coming back. A representative of Mac5 called and said they have a flat rate charge of $500 regardless of time required. Seems like they should inform customers of their flat rate instead of telling them there’s a $40 service charge. Once again, buyer beware of this bait and switch communication.Review from Jack F.

Called Mac5 for a hot water leak in our slab. Came right over within an hour. Quoted us two repair scenarios. We ended up going with the whole home replumb. Over 10K to do the job. Installer named Jack came a week later and started the job. His van looked like a dumpster. Would you trust someone to work on your house that doesnt even take care of his office and tools? Was there for a few hours the first day, skipped the next day and came back for few hours the following day. This guy hacked and butchered my home up. All kinds of jagged holes, uneven pIumbing fixture placement and just no pride in his work. When he left at the end of the day, Jack said the water is now on and you can use it. After he left, We turned the faucet on in the kitchen and water was leaking everywhere. Went into two of the bathrooms and we had water leaking in there. I am Livid at this point. I called the office and told them I didnt want Jack back at our home. The ladies in the office were very nice and helpful. They sent Sergio over and he got us going. Fast forward a couple weeks. We have free credit monitoring with our credit union. They alerted us that there is a second position lean on our property from Mac5 services. I was blown away in shock. Not only did we pay 1/2 of the job cost up front, when Sergio completed the job we paid the remaining balance before he even left. Called Mac5's office and they said we didnt do that. The city did it. That was a lie. Called the city and they said someone from Mac5 physically came down and filled out the lean paperwork. I cant begin to describe the dissatisfaction I have with this company. Not only did the butcher and hack my home up, they also put a lean on it. We gave them 5 business days to remove the lean or we would call our attorney. They did remove it. Please stay away from this company for plumbing. What a horrible experience. I will never use this company again. I am telling everyone I know about them. Stay away at all costs.
