Hired this outfit to perform service and repair, first attempt didnt fix the issue and another part was damaged as a result of their work, second time charged for the part that was damaged and triple the original quote for the original repair. Refused to disclose information regards parts and refused to provide the old parts, a simple repair ballooned to $3,200, amount wasnt approved or disclosed prior to the repair

This issue has been turned over to the economics division of the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office. Id be happy to supply the BBB the case number if needed.

The customer hired us to work on his vessel. He was extremely pleased with our work and hired us agin to fix a steering issue. We ordered some parts and came back to the customers vessel about 3 weeks later. While we were working on the customers vessel we get a call from our credit card processor saying ***** has disputed the previous transaction with his bank. We then confront ***** about this he acknowledges he did it, says he canceled it, and then says he would pay for it. The $3,200 he is referring to is from the first visit that he dispute along with the 2nd visit for the completed work and parts Over $1,000 in parts that the customer approved and has not paid for along with the labor. ***** has not paid us for services rendered and disputed the work we have done for him with his credit card company. The worst part is ***** is a business owner himself and would still do this to a small business. Just awful.

      Unpaid invoice attached.

I also attached our service agreement that clearly states our rates and you will also see ****** signature authorizing our services.

      Complaint: 22135710

I am rejecting this response because:

      1. They were hired once, not twice, second visit was due to their inability to perform the repair the first time for which i was billed $800 and paid in full

      2. Upon arrival the second time they informed me that there is more damage than they didn't realized despite charging for inspection on top of the $800 ,

      3. All indications are that the additional damage was caused by the tech the first time, regardless of that i approved the additional part that ended up costing under $800, no problem with that but the billing was never adjusted to reflect the first charge for the same work, demanded cash to be paid on site, refused to leave behind the used parts and messed up my electrical system which had cost an additional $843 to repair by another company, the boat was left filthy and based on the video made by my security cam they han never started or tested the boat for proper repair, all the cared about is payment in cash, no check or cc

I have no problem paying for parts as long as the labor fee adjusted to reflect the issues above

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

I attached the invoice from our first visit clearly dated July 27th. He then hired us agin to do the additional recommendations.

***** paid this invoice for the services rendered and then disputed our first visit with his credit card company but hired us to do more work. Thus why we would only accept cash or check with a picture of his drivers licenses. Im sure any reasonable person with common sense can understand why.

***** will say and do anything to fit his narrative. The vessel was inspected and fully operational when we left via the pictures and videos in our post service ticket.

      The bill is still unpaid.

They came to fix my boat and are charging me for time they didn't work as I have it on camera and now they are threatening me with court when I told them the time didn't add up

      Business response

      08/08/2024

The customer threatened to contact the ******************** to try to avoid paying his bill. The bill was due after we completed the services on his vessel He gave us excuses after excuse for 5 days. Threatened to contact attorneys and BBB after we applied the $100 late fee that he agreed to by sighing our authorization form. The customer belivied our clock was off 23 minuets ( it wasnt ) our software tracks our techs and geo locates them regardless for the sake of trying to get the bill paid we discounted it 23 minuets That was only an issue when we contacted him on the 5th day. Had no issues with the bill prior

Hard working techs came out and preformed services for this customer and he was willing to do whatever nessicary to not pay his bill.

The technician Literally robbed me. I reached out to posiden Marine to have my sea ray 340 diagnosed and repaired. I was under the impression ****** would be coming out after speaking to him on the phone. However Instead, a technician was sent to my location Who I did Not ever have any contact with, He entered the cabin of my boat and Rummaged through the cabinets stealing over $1000 worth of my property. The manager confirmed the my belongings were in the technicians truck however, the police were not able to Return my belongings because I could not give them the precise serial numbers on my tools. To make matters worse, the technician didnt even look at my boats issue because he didnt bring the correct tools for the job. I was told that he would be returning by the end of the day or at the latest by Saturday Because he did not bring the Mercury Marine scan tool that would be required to diagnose My boat. I went down there to check out what Only to find a lot of my property was missing. The owner cooperated with law-enforcement, however, they were unable to retrieve my belongings So I asked the owner ****** to replace my tools and he simply told me he would not be doing Anything to assist. So The gentlemen employees thieves, hes not willing to replace my property as if he had zero liability for employing thieves.Im requesting the replacement value of my property at $1100

The customer accused one of our employees of steeling so we called the Hillsborough ********************** to investigate ( case number  #******** ). We have completely cooperated with law-enforcement although ***** ( the customer ) has not and no action has been taken at this time. On top of that the full day of labor and parts we have into the customers vessel we did not charge for. The customer has never paid us a dime.

This business is a straight up scam. They charge a $300 bait and switch service fee and then sit around and do unauthorized work and try to bill you thousands!!! They honestly are the biggest liars I've ever encountered. They then threaten to send you to collections if you refuse to pay a severely unauthorized inflated bill. Then on top of that are holding my jet ski hostage.

      Business response

The customers statements couldnt be further from the truth. The customer hired us to work on 2 of his vessels. We preformed the work and while doing so we noticed a problem with his jet ski and explained to the customer the motor would need to be pulled apart to diag the problem. We asked the customer for permission to do so and brought the jet ski to our shop after getting that permssion because the work simply couldnt be done in the field. After completing the diag of the customers motor and suppliying him with the bill for our work in both vessels and an estimate to make the needed repairs upon our findings on the Jet ski the customer has now proceeded to contact the ******************** and post false remarks online. The customer has not paid us one dime for the services rendered.

I requested diagnostics and troubleshooting for an ****** outboard engine and was quoted $155.00 per hour. I am not a technician or mechanic but I explained what I believed to be the issue. I expressed apprehension with hiring a technician with the sales team at Poseidon because of the hourly cost and they reassured me that the technician would not waste time. I agreed and scheduled an appointment. The technician they sent me was not a ****** technician and could not perform a water test because he did not have a boaters license. I performed the water test for him. He also came without a diagnostic computer; one of the most Important tools for a technician. Because he was not ****** certified and did not have that tool, much of the first two hours he spent calling his office to speak with their ****** technician. After two hours ($150.00 per hour) he clocked out to go get the diagnostic computer from their shop. Upon return, the diagnostic computer identified several codes that allowed the technician to properly identify potential problems. The next day I was billed $855.39 (4.96 hours plus tax). I tried to dispute the first two hours as non productive with the Poseidon management team and offered to pay 2.96 hours and they refused. They claimed they the technician was prepared for the problems I described as having. I believe if they had sent me an actual ****** technician with the proper diagnostic tools to complete the "diagnostics" this job would have been completed in much less time.

The customer self diagnosed his vessel and believed he needed a new fuel pump. He hired us to come out and replace his fuel pump and diag the fuel problem.  We came out with a new fuel pump and upon our inspection the fuel pump the customer believed was bad was in perfect working order. Although the vessel was throwing multiple fuel alarms so we diagnosed the issue and gave the customer the proper recommendations to fix his fuel issue ( exactly what he asked us to do ) the estimate that was give was based on his diagnoses which was not the actual problem. We did what was asked of us The customer received the bill and proceeded to write false and defamatory remarks about our company online.

I am rejecting this response because: If a customer requested diagnostics on a broken engine, a reasonable person would agree; that the customer would expect the technician coming to run diagnostics to bring a diagnostic computer or at least be certified on that engine.

Poseidon Mobile Marine Mechanics was tentatively scheduled to show up at Thunder Marine (located at *******************************************************************************) to provide a no-cost estimate for repairs on our boat (to be completed at a different location). Poseidon was to contact the Service Advisor, ********, at Thunder to confirm a day and time so as not to interfere with Thunder Marine's work schedule on our boat. Thunder requires documentation before coming on their site for liability reasons; requirements provided to Poseidon. On November 16th, Poseidon was a no show. ******** stated Poseidon had not provided her all the documentation. When we contacted Poseidon to get a status, a gentleman named ****** got gruff with us demanding to know if he was working for us or for Thunder. We replied that Poseidon's work is through us, but Thunder still requires the same documentation whether working through Thunder or through a ***************************** said they would not provide a no-cost estimate at Thunder, but for $300 they would provide an on-site estimate elsewhere. This was the first time a cost for an estimate was mentioned. We asked what if we brought it by their shop, would there be a charge to do an estimate? Poseidon said no.On November 21, we towed our ****** lb. boat out of our way to Poseidon's address per ****** (see attachment). We called in advance saying we're on the & got voice mail. When we arrived, no one was present & the shop door was locked even though a sign said open, come on in. We waited for over an hour calling repeatedly trying to reach someone. After no answers, we towed our boat back to its storage location.Poseidon is trying to charge us a no-show $300 fee for an estimate they didn't do claiming we were at the wrong address despite what ****** showed despite never answering our calls. When we asked why the wrong address is on ******, Poseidon replied they like to keep their real shop address secret.

      Business response

******* recollection of the events are completly false.

The customer contacted us to come out and give him an estimate for work he wanted done on his sailboat which was removing his current water heater and replacing it with a tankless water heater. The customer was made aware of the $300 diag charge for us to come out and diag what was needed in order to performer the job we explained theres a lot of measurements and reasearch involved and it would take us about 2 to 3 hours which is the reason for ******** charge. ****** did send us info stating Thunder Marine needed our insurance on file. Our tech ( ************************* ) brought those documents with him and gave them to Thunder Marine upon his arrival. At the time of arrival ******** told us we would not be allowed on the vessel because they are currently working on it. This is the first of me ever speaking with ******** or even knowing that the vessel was getting other work done from a different technician. We immediately contacted ******. He apologized for the miscommunication and then offered to bring the vessel to our shop for ******** once Thunder Marine finished. We said that would be no problem and that we would not charge him a second diag fee as long as he brought us the vessel. The customer never once contacted us to say he was coming or that he was at our shop or lodge. He mustve had the wrong number because our number is monitored by two operators from 7am to 7pm 7 days a week. Our shop address is not a secret and we never would communicate such a thing its down the street from our fishing lodge. ****** showed up to our fishing lodge while all our boats where out fishing thus the reason nobody was there. Although we checked our security cameras and do not see ****** ever showing up to our lodge so who knows if thats even true. ****** recollection of events are simply untrue. The facts are ****** failed to communicate effectively with us and Thunder Marine and now wants to pass the blame to someone else and makeup lies for his own mistakes. ****** was charged a $300 fee our technicians time at Thunder Marine while we waited on his response for what he would like us to do. He then never brought us the boat and lied about saying that he did. He has not paid his outstanding invoice and we have done no work to his vessel but he has cost our company and our technicians time for his failures not ours.

      Complaint: 20995254

I am rejecting this response because:

******** from Thunder Marine confirmed Poseidon did not coordinate a day or time to be on site at Thunder's location.  ******** also confirmed that Poseidon failed to provide all the necessary paperwork required from a vendor before coming on site to Thunder.

Had Poseidon confirmed a date and time with ******** as instructed, they would not have showed up unannounced while Thunder was working on our boat.  In addition, Poseidon showed up at the wrong address for Thunder, going to the sales office not the service office.

Attached is an excerpt from my cell phone bill showing repeated and unanswered attempts to reach Poseidon when we were at their office Tuesday, November 21.

Poseidon operates a shady business hiding their true address on ****** and trying to extort money from customers for no-shows when they as a business caused the no shows by not following instructions or not being available when a customer goes through the hassle of towing a 35' boat to their shop only to find no one was there and no one would answer the phones.

      Sincerely,
