One star is too much but required. Looking for a quick build process, I purchased a pre-built modular home called the Crescent from Florida Modular Homes on 08-25-2021, relying on an email from their salesman that stated The Crescent I can sell and be done in 4 months. We were finally given authorization to move in on June 29, 2023. Allowing for a 2 month lot re-permitting issue, the 4 month build took 20 months, almost 2 years. Since the home was pre-built, there were no supply delivery issues.The build process was a disaster. For example, the septic tank was buried incorrectly and popped completely out of the ground 3 months after installation. Other major issues: hot water not working in the master shower and wasnt fixed until we complained 5 times, windows not installed correctly, exposed nail heads, no transition strips from wood floor to carpets throughout the home, etc. In fact, we had a home inspector inspect the property who found 3 safety defects, 6 minor defects and 18 marginal defects. A repeated inspection 2 months later found 6 issues resolves and 21 unresolved.The contact called for a base price and an individual up to (maximum) additional cost for 9 site improvement costs. Florida Modular apparently interprets that as being able to use overages in one up to cost line item against others where the cost was well below the up to cost. The final straw was the last construction draw where Florida Modular insisted we not only pay the maximum up to cost but also pay them $5,000 over the base contract price because hey had construction overruns (with no change orders). It cost us $3,500 in attorney fees to reach a barely acceptable alternative to a full arbitration and get moved in to our home a year and a half late. I would suggest avoidance of Florida Modular at all costs.

I would not have given them the one star if I didn't have too. This business has a "F" rating for a reason. They do not care about customer service. They changed the sales order after it was sign before sending it to ********. The hitch broke and the house hit the ground turning into my driveway. They strung us along by saying they would fix everything. Brought the new I-Beam out but never changed it . They were moving quickly to cover up everything we pointed out. The roof had holes in it from one end to the other were the wrap was attached with nails for shipping. The holes leaked and caused black fuzzy stuff that was spreading. I called it mold but during the arbitration their lawyer pointed out that I did not get it tested. ************** lied to my face throughout the process and even told me that if I got a lawyer involved he would drag it out as long as possible and then foreclose on my land. He was right about dragging it out but after almost two years we finally won and the house was removed from my property. Do your research on these companies and ask people on social media for recommendations. The house was brought back to their lot and I can only assume that they will try to sell it to someone else. BUYER BEWARE!!!

We just submitted a criminal complaint against Florida Modular and their principles with the Florida ************************** We encourage all parties impacted by this company to do the same. Florida Modular hid a wetlands delineation from us - one conducted while my wife was in surgery for breast cancer - took more than $30,000 of our money and when they did not nor could not deliver the home, they withdrew the funding from the mortgage company for an additional $325,000. Now we have no home, no communications from them, unusable property, and a mortgage in excess of $400,000 total. We are pursuing both civil and criminal resolutions at this moment and we encourage all parties to do the same. IF they told you that you must go through the arbitration process, the ************************* will assist you. Reach out directly to them. Go to the ** AG Criminal Complaint - Commercial form - and explain the situation. We are gathering as many people as possible who may have been harmed by this company.

So getting approved for the house and the salesman was actually very helpful. However though the house has been delivered and set up. But they never finished closing up the ends of the house. You can email and call all you want we've gotten a email that you'd be out within a week a month later still nobody then they proceed to tell us to get a hold of the contractor to call ourselves and set it up. The job was not finished this is not what I paid for. And I'm worried that the mold and animals can get inside my house. I have no attic cover. So the temperature and my bathroom and bedroom or always either warmer or colder depending on the weather. I was also told that they would come back out and fix the yard from all the roots and stuff after the house was delivered and set. My house has been open since November of last year. I understand everything is behind but they didn't finish the job so now we're it's causing other issues with my home possibly mold and animals inside my attic. The response they have was very unacceptable. And their timely fashion and communication is terrible. Once I get the money from you everything stops. I could be understanding about cosmetics on the inside a little ************* some tiles missing out of the bathroom. But the outside of my house is important hurricane season is coming up and I live in Florida this is unacceptable.
