Rented a house with my family for the fourth, and when we arrived, the room with two twin beds had a very strong urine odor. You could smell it as soon as you walked in the house. Once we lifted the sheets, we discovered huge fresh urine puddles on each bed. We called Collins, LaQuisha was zero help, and was very rude. An inspector came by to look at the beds the next day and said “this is way too bad for anyone to sleep in” and asked us not to put pictures on Facebook! She took the sheets and blankets. Nothing else. The cleaning company finally came and steam cleaned the mattresses. Now of course, we had no sheets or blankets to use. AND the room still smelled like a sewer. That’s when we realized there was a leak in the ceiling above, which after investigating, we realized was in the exact shape and directly under the toilet from the bathroom above. The company then came out and fixed the leak in the toilet, however this room was unusable during our entire weeklong stay. No one from Collins was willing to provide us with other accommodations or even a blow up mattress. We had to go buy our own blow up mattresses, which laquisha said she would compensate us for ONLY if we left them at the house. Our house was 4028 dollars for the week. There were four rooms. The mattresses we bought were 111 dollars. Therefore, I asked for 25% of our money back plus the 111 dollars we spent. Collins refused, and is only willing to give 636 dollars back. We did not receive what we paid for, so I believe we should receive 25% of the money back. Four couples split the total cost of the house, but one of the couples was completely unable to use their room and had to sleep in the living room floor. The house also advertised pull out couches, but there were none in the house. The costumer service with this company, specifically LaQuisha, has been HORRIBLE. They do not care about the customer. Don’t stay in Ebb Tide unless you want to smell like sewer gas and a nursing home all week!Review from Bonita A

Three weeks prior to my arrival I received an email NOT a phone call to advise the property I rented is being sold an no longer available for rent. Collin’s had two houses of which one only had a dipping pool vs a full size pool and the other wasn’t as nice as what we rented. Others she recommended that were available for the same week were more expensive and they expected us to pay the difference. This company lacks in customer experience, only continued to reference the policy, was very curt with no empathy or compassion. Now I am being advised the money paid over the last year for the rental will be put back on the method used to pay and some of those methods were gift cards where we no longer have access to. I am waiting on a call back but again no empathy or concern was expressed just reiterated their policyCollins Vacation Rentals Response

Unfortunately, the sale of a property is out of our control as well as if the buyer (potential new owner) is going to keep the property on the rental market. Sometimes it is to our surprise as well that a property is not listed for sale, but we are notified that it is under contract with a closing date set. We do our best as soon as we find out to find comparable accommodations and inquire about discounts offered by that property/owner since each property is individually owned the company cannot discount a property at will. While I am sorry, we didn’t have a property available that would fit your needs I am glad that you were able to find another that you are satisfied with and works for your party. This rental company and property owners use deceptive advertisements. They advertisement a promotional discount for the property Good Day Sunshine for available weeks in June and July. The property is a few blocks off the beach but right next to a large community lagoon-style pool. Because of the promotional discount and close proximity to the pool, we booked the property on May 24. 3 days before our arrival (1.5 months later), Collins Vacation Rentals called to tell us the pool was shutdown and would not be fixed during our stay. After further discussions, we discovered the promotional discount was because the pool was shutdown! So Collins Vacation Rental agency knew about the pool but did not disclose that information on the property page or in the promotional information. In fact, they were still promoting the pool as an available amenity to entice vacationers. Additionally, the property owner refused to let us transfer to another available house. Obviously the property owner could care less about deceiving prospective renters and ruining their vacation experience. I advise you to steer clear of Collins Vacation Rental Agency and specifically the property Good Day Sunshine. They are deceptive and selfish and completely lack integrity.Collins Vacation Rentals Response

Please accept our sincerest apology for your inconvenience regarding the swimming pool. In no way was anyone trying to be deceptive. We have been in business for 50 years and always prided ourselves on honesty, integrity and professionalism. This community pool is owned and maintained by the Plantation Homeowners Association and in no way does Collins Vacation Rentals have control over whether a pool is functioning or not. As soon as we were notified it was not going to be ready you were notified and given a $1500 discount for your inconvenience. This was not the only pool available for your use it was just the closest. Sorry your week has started out rainy, but the weather looks great for the remainder of the week hope you enjoy the rest of your stay. Collins is a joke. The website showed a lovely clean house on the beach full of amenities. Bot was I wrong. This property was a mess, and after i looked at old reviews I should have steered clear of this house. At this price point, I expect WAY more. The description and photos on this website do not correctly illustrate the problems with this place. I only discovered these problems when we got there. We were sorely disappointed. No Keyless Entry - major inconvenience for check-in, check-out, and beach time. No parking - three vehicles could not park easily. We had to shuffle cars around in order to let people in and out. Two cars can park comfortably. Rickety Porch - this is so obvious, the owners should be ashamed. Some parts were a hazard. I have small children and grandparents and we were all nervous. Bug Spray Smell - immediately when we walked into the house for the first time the overwhelming stench of bug spray hit us in the face. We had to open all doors to even be able to sit inside. The smell and my headaches finally got a little better after 2 days. Un-usable Musty Master Suite - The master suite as on the bottom level. The whole area was ridiculously musty like an old basement. Made my eyes water. The carpet was tacky to the bottom of my feet. When I discovered .damp-rid in the closet I realized that this was just how it is. Needless to say we were all very disappointed because I would not stay in that room, and I would not allow my children to stay in that room. We came to the beach to have fun, not fight mildew and mold induced sickness all week. Ants - after a few days it rained. That’s when an entire battalion of huge red ants took over the back porch and steps. There were so many we couldn’t access that area for at least a day. My daughter was bitten. This explains the sickening bug spray smell in the house and proves the property manager is aware. Never again.
