We experienced a lightning strike to our home which caused a fire in our attic. A representative from Servpro showed up as the fire was occurring. The following day we assured $3,000-$5,000 cost to clean things up. The bill one month later to the insurance company that we didnt even see until notified by the insurance company was $14,500! Buyer bewarebait and switch!Business response

It is our policy that no specific proposal or quote is given at initial meeting. All proposals are submitted to the customer’s insurance carrier for approval prior to payment, and adjusted at the request of the insurance carrier. We submitted all documentation of work to the insurance company and the estimate was agreed upon and approved by the insurance adjuster for payment.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:When we met with Servpro and their Representative we asked how much this service was going to cost us? Who in their right mind would sign a contract and enter into an agreement without knowing how much it was going to cost? The answer that was given to us was $3,000 to $5,000 dollars. Knowing that was an agreeable amount to pay for the clean up of our floors and destroyed plaster and lathe ceilings we felt that was a reasonable price. Instead we find out over a month later from our insurance adjuster that the bill was $14,500! Imagine how you might feel if you were getting work done to your home, we’re told in advance before you agreed to the service that it was going to cost you one amount, only to get billed later three times that amount?! It’s a bait and switch con job!
