*********************, owner of Home Inspections of Mid-******* LLC came to inspect a home on April 6th 2022 that I was purchasing. I had asked him during the inspection on a few occasions about the condition of the ** units and he said they were fine. Shortly after we moved in I hired an ** company to clean the vents and to look over the units. (This part is to complete the story and not bring this ** company into the complaint because he has refunded me the money.) *********** man notified me there was mold on both of the units and they would need to be specialty cleaned to eradicate all the mold. ***********man installed a blue light and supposedly cleaned out the vents and both ** units. Feeling uneasy with the thought of mold because my 2 daughters both have asthma, I hired a mold inspection company to see if there was any mold left in either unit. I searched online and found BPS Building Performance Solutions and made an appt. Shortly after he arrived, the owner *************************** right away told me there was still mold in both units and the previous ** company did not properly clean the units. You can see the mold once you open the panels or even remove the air filter. He said if the Home inspector would have opened either unit or looked at the filters he would have seen the mold and know there was a serious problem. Obviously **** did neither. ******* then recommended a company called Tiles 360 who specialize in removing mold so I called and made an appointment. The company came and spent the entire day taking every piece of the unit apart plus the vents and eradicated the mold.I am seeking a refund for the home inspection $500, mold inspection $650 and HV** cleaning $2952 for a total of $4102. I feel this is fair and I am not asking for the extra month rent I paid to not move into the house because of the mold issue nor any pain, stress or time lost.
