I contacted ********************* of Japaul Landscaping ********************************** for landscaping services in early May. I had contacted this business as the online ads claim that he is #1 in ************* for landscaping along with 5 star customer reviews included on his site. After delaying for several weeks, as he claimed he was extremely busy, Japaul came to my home on 05/25/2023 just after 10 am. He walked around my property and took photos with his phone. He invited himself into my home to take my information and show me previous projects on his computer. Once in my home he did not take any information from me and showed me only one computer graphic design - no actual photos- of a local property project that he claimed he had completed . He otherwise would not provide any information on what ideas he had for my property or what he would charge, said he needed to go think about. He demanded $600.00 Venmo payment, which he told me he required on the spot in order to take me on as a client. I did not have venmo but he refused to take any other form of payment. He also refused to initiate any services without the immediate $600.00 Venmo cash transfer. I expressed that I found the request odd but Japaul said that it was merely a deposit towards his services and that he only took on clients who complied with paying the deposit, as he was #1 in ************* and extremely busy. I therefore downloaded the Venmo app and sent him $600.00 while he stood in my living room and waited. Once the transaction was complete he immediately left promising that I would have a design and itemized quote for front and backyard landscaping for my property within 2 weeks. To date (8-14-2023) I have not received any services or heard from Japaul. After a month I called and emailed to follow up but did not receive a response. 2 weeks later emailed again requesting refund of my money. No reply. I subsequently called and emailed again for refund. To date no reply, no services and no refund.
